Old thread that was resurrected. The Hot Cors are a good bullet like all have said. Ive only used the 180gr FN version out of my 35 Rem Marlin. They've done excellent on deer and hogs. They've all exited.
I haven't but I also haven't shot a ton of these. I've used some in my 7mm PRC and found a good sub-moa load at 100 yards that puts the hurt on deer. My bullets were factory seconds, but I didn't have any big groups or flyers. I might check some for the heck of it though.
Specifics on your load...
Powder and primers last a very long time if stored properly. I've never done a comparison like y'all have but I've been given some 30-50 year old unopened cans of powder and primers and they shot great.
Good to hear a range report. 2800+ from a .277 cal 150gr in a case roughly 308 size from a 20" barrel is nothing to sneeze at. My 24" barreled 270 Win did right at 2900 fps with 150s! What kind of loads are you working with?
Those aren't terrible prices and they have a good selection. Almost bought some other powders (Grand and H4895 are calling my name) but I need to just use what I got! They have quite a few primers too.
I haven't done it often, but have removed live primers very carefully and reused them without issue. Not sure I'd use them for anything important like hunting loads though.
