    Shot the Tikka Swede

What a beautiful rifle. Is there anything R26 can't do? Have you tried any other loads in it yet? Not that you need to with that load.

    Well I did it...

Mine is a 22" barrel, I think they offer longer in the magnum calibers.

    Well I did it...

I bought a 6.5x55 Tikka recently too! Went with the stainless hunter model. Woods decent but nothing like yours! I have a bunch of Lapua brass, dies & bullets just waiting to go. 140gr Partitions should be perfect in this rifle but I have a lot of others to try. Let us know how yours shoots!

    277 Fury load data?

You'll have to keep us updated on your progress. I thought these hybrid cases weren't reloadable?

    Preferred handgun hunting bullet?

A buddy gave me a couple bricks of lead that were used as ballast in an x-ray machine. They were pure lead and I just added some tin or cut them with wheel weights. Im about out of all of them though.

    Back in Stock

Yep, it went fast even at $86 per pound. Too rich for my blood.

Hornady 200gr Interlock RN from .35 Rem

I think I remember reading that as well, the 200gr Core-lokt always seemed to be the best one.

    7 PRC Loads

I was hesitant to try the ABLR's after using the regular Accubond so well for so long. I'd heard of the accuracy issues with it but decided to grab a couple boxes of the blems and have been extremely happy with them as you can see from my post(s). I haven't shot any bug hole groups with them...

    7mm-08 Sub-sonic Load

Some websites have twist calculators like Berger to see if those 160gr BT's would stabilize or not.

    7mm-08 Sub-sonic Load

Very cool. Titegroup is pretty position insensitive but I've never tried it in a case that big. I've done some mouse fart loads with Titegroup in the 44 mag and never had ignition issues though.

    6.5 CM 130gr bullet test, Part 4 - Sierra 130gr GKHP

I know it's not designed as a Varmint bullet, was remarking how with such violent expansion it reminds me of one. They've been killing deer for decades.

    7 PRC Loads

@CurrentTX the ABLR's do great on game. Ive shot a few deer with them in the 168gr variety from my 7mm PRC and 142gr from 6.5 PRC. Pictured is the 168gr ABLR from an Alabama buck. Bullet went almost the whole length of the deer. You can check the bullet test forums on here for my posts and...

    6.5 CM 130gr bullet test, Part 5 - Conclusion

Thank you for doing that testing. Any of your loads will work for deer but of the ones you shot, I like how the SST looked. I've only ever shot one deer with a 130gr SST in a 270 on a large doe. DRT and only found the jacket under the skin. I think the 129gr ABLR would be perfect for the Creed...

    6.5 CM 130gr bullet test, Part 4 - Sierra 130gr GKHP

That was certainly violent. Almost more of a Varmint bullet than a big game bullet. Can't imagine that thing in a 6.5 PRC or similar with another 250+ fps.

    6.5 CM 130gr bullet test, Part 3 - 130 Sierra TGK

Quite similar performance to the SST.

    Preferred handgun hunting bullet?

I cast all the ones I hunt with from Lyman, RCBS, MP and NOE molds. It's definitely a commitment and takes time! The MP & NOE molds have the interchangeable pins to change from HP of different styles to solids. You can even cast multiple styles at the same time. It has been getting more and more...

Completed transition from Alliant to Hodgdon...

Thanks for the offer but I'm good on powders! I've only used LRT in the 7mm PRC and really like it so far. 168gr ABLR at 2900 fps with a 20" barrel, which isn't a max load. It's been pretty easy to find locally too.

Completed transition from Alliant to Hodgdon...

My go-to's have always been Hodgdon powders with some IMR thrown in. Lately I've had good luck with Ramshot Hunter & LRT. I also have a few pounds of N565 for the 6.5 PRC but haven't played with it yet. I have some R17, R19 & R22 but have hardly touched it. That'll be changing soon though...

    7 PRC Brass Questions

R26 is unobtanium right now unfortunately. I've heard good things accuracy wise with H4831 in the 7mm PRC and it seems to be working for you. H1000 and LRT have worked well for me and LRT is available locally in my area. I've been getting 2900 fps from a 20" barrel with 168gr ABLR's without a...

    Bullets for reduced recoil loads

It all depends on what velocity you're trying for. If you want maximum recoil reduction, dropping to a 125gr bullet like the Ballistic Tip would work well even if velocity was in the 2500 fps area. I'm not sure of the velocity threshold of the Sierra Pro Hunters but they tend to hold together...
