Well I did it...

May you enjoy many hours handling and admiring that beautiful rifle!
Whether it be at home in an easy chair with a favourite beverage, around a campfire with friends and family, or on a hunt/in a stand where you can spend quality time with a handsome firearm that is pure joy to own.
(I know I have a few that fall in this category, and it just fun to pull them out and admire them from time to time during the off season)

I bought a 6.5x55 Tikka recently too! Went with the stainless hunter model. Woods decent but nothing like yours! I have a bunch of Lapua brass, dies & bullets just waiting to go. 140gr Partitions should be perfect in this rifle but I have a lot of others to try. Let us know how yours shoots!

I wasn’t aware that the stainless steel version uses a fluted barrel like the one you have. What length bbl. is yours wearing? For some reason it looks longer than 22”, do they offer a 24” too?

To me nothing is easier to make shoot than a Partition or Ballistic Tip. Either bullet has taken more game over the last forty years for me that I rarely see a need to use something else unless it’s a X bullet. That said Barnes bullets can be difficult to shoot really well vs Nolser’s BT, or Partition. I’ve used the AB only in one rifle that shot better than the other two bullets, a Hart barreled Wby. Vanguard in 7mm-08.

Those Tikka’s are shooters! I’ve seen Factory rifles win NRL Hunter matches numerous times, albeit by very good shooters. As well as plenty more that have been modified to shoot as well as a full custom rifle.

Keep us posted with your load development going forward from here.

Best wishes and good luck.
