They advise to seat at the groove for optimum performance. I tried once to seat deeper past the groove (as advised by the owner just to see) but it did not work out. It was a while ago using 30 caliber bullets
I finally got them in the mail the other day and yesterday I shot them at the range. This is what the 220 Hammer Hunter shot like. Not too shabby and I think I'm ready for any game with North America

Not a max load but close. Wears a 3x9x40 Trijicon now.
My leupolds are old vari x's that never get their turrets twisted unless they get bumped and need a sight in at the range. I do not own a single one with exposed turrets for any type of LR shooting by dialing.

The Hammer is estimated at .537
I am thinking I have to shoot the hammers at long range to establish an accurate BC. Visually (and I know it does not work out that way always) I am thinking over .600 BC
