Which Ammo For African Plains Game ???

I can’t wait to begin it.

    Historic Viking war ship

It’s fitting that I read this today as I’m in a mood to rape, pillage, and plunder. So I’ll head to the pantry and rape the package of Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Cookies, pillage the fridge for a Diet Pepsi, and plunder the pizza carton for remnants of last night’s pizza. Vince

Which Ammo For African Plains Game ???

Found some tipped TSX, .416, 350 grain bullets. Vince

Which Ammo For African Plains Game ???

Brain Fart. I fixed the statement. Thanks for catching that. The confusing statement is just further proof that I am unable to walk and chew gum at the same time. Yes, I was planning to use the 350 grain Barnes bullet in my .416 Taylor. Vince

    Norma Bondstrike - a compromise?

So you’re suggesting I shoot a stack of iPhones? Bullet testing is going to get very expensive. If I need a phone number I don’t have I Google it on my iPhone. Vince

Swapping from Evinrude ETEC to Suzuki

I swapped from Hanes to Victoria Secret. Oh wait…… Wrong thread. While all companies, and any man made item can fail, produce a lemon now and then I’ve been regularly pleased with Japanese made motors and such. Funny how they were once our enemies now we’re all, figuratively if not literally...

    Norma Bondstrike - a compromise?

If it says Norma you can rest assured it’s high quality. I don’t get lost in the weeds worrying about weight retention if I have a dead critter at my feet. Just food for thought. Take a bite if you desire. Vince

Which Ammo For African Plains Game ???

I’m going to go with a 350 grain TTSX for Cape Buffalo if it shoots good in my .416 Taylor. Vince

    .223 Coyote Load?

Speaking for the 700 Loudenboomer crowd; Some of us like to make noise. We can be a gaseous bunch but you’ll probably find our socks don’t match, our boots will make a hound pass out if they smell the inside of them, and grandparents that have been dead for thirty days smell better. Vince

    Good ol days

Not reloading, factory ammo, but I don’t miss how this leaded up barrels.

You’re a better man than me. Ain’t no way I’d get into a cigar tube of death by drowning. Vince

    Blocked by Midway

Duct tape doesn’t carry well in a cantle bag in 100+ degree heat. Don’t ask how I know this. Vince

    .223 Coyote Load?

I’ve always preferred the 45-70 for coyotes. Vince

Which Ammo For African Plains Game ???

Couldn’t find enough online to purchase. I don’t reload anymore and using factory ammo. My other option is the Barnes TTSX. Vince

Which Ammo For African Plains Game ???

The mono metal is 225 grain and the bonded bullet is 230 grain. Vince

    Cases splitting / 38 Super

Seems like you made a wise decision. The cost savings of reloading, or using your old ammo, is not, IMHO, worth the cost of damage to your pistol. Vince

    This day 1969

I remember sitting on the floor watching it on television. At the time we were living in an apartment in Des Moines. Mom was vacuuming or dusting and doing her wifely/motherly duties. Vince

    Blocked by Midway

I just ordered some ammo from Midway. I’m not much of a computer guy and have no clue what cache history, IP Address, or other goobledegook means. I’m a simple guy that fixes things by getting a bigger hammer or putting it in place using baling wire. I guess what I meant to say is that Larry...

Which Ammo For African Plains Game ???

Assuming they both shoot well enough in my rifle should I use the .338 Win Mag Norma Oryx or Hornady Outfitter for plains game? The Norma round is a bonded bullet and the Hornady is a mono metal bullet. I’m going for Kudu, Nyala, Gemsbuck, Zebra, Warthog, Impala, and Wildebeest. Vince
