Welcome. Jim has given you good information. I can testify that either the BT or PT bullets are good deer getters. As he said if your rifle won't group the BTs then there is some other issue. Used a 120gr BT in my 7mm08 this past buck season second week on a small buck and it was complete pass...
Those are nice reliable semi-autos. Either caliber you mentioned would be good. Both easy to load for in semi-autos. Fellow church member has one in 30-06. He wanted to be able to eat up to the hole without alot of bloodshot damage. So, I developed him a load using H4895 and a Sierra 180gr...
Good shooting. Lot of deer can be taken with that load. IMR4895 has been an old standby in the 308 for years before Varget came along. In my current 308 IMR4895 does well with one bullet but put Varget under it and not so much. Varget with other bullets does just fine. One of the joys of...
I have 2 pistols with red dots and now 1 with a green dot sight. Before red was pretty east to see then before cataract surgery got really hard to distinguish. Have a red fiber optic and green fiber optic on couple of shotguns. Since getting this last Ronin with the green dot I have really...
Well, after considering both the Kimber and the Springfield Ronin package I went with the Ronin. For about a hundred dollars more got a dot sight and 3 extra mags. Having a Ronin already in 45acp it seemed to make a little more sense.
Got a Springfield Armory Ronin 9mm yesterday with the bag,Viridian green dot and 3 extra magazines package. Took to the range while ago and sighted in at 10yds resting the butt on a bag. First 2 shots were at the bottom of the target. Big twist up hitting dead on. Then went to 12-15 yds...
Don't own the Garrison but do own a Range Officer Elite Champion 9mm and a Ronin 45acp. Like them both well-made and good shooters. Have another Ronin on order 5in 9mm package deal includes dot sight 4 mags and range bag. I like Springfield Armory 1911s.
