Good day for a treasure hunt!

I stopped by our local gun shop on Thursday and found that they also had a very respectable inventory of Alliant powders. Bought a pound of the RL 22 I wanted to try out. Maybe Alliant's production is picking up. Grabbed a pound of Hodgdon's Retumbo as well.

    Simple Question?

Has anyone compared the performance of IMR 7828 vs. IMR 7828 SSC? I noticed that in the QL data I've seen on this forum, IMR 7828 SSC seems to yield higher pressures/velocities. Any preferences?

    SEATING DEPTH

Dr. Mike: That's just the type of input I was seeking. Many thanks.

    SEATING DEPTH

Hey Ray: I guess I was hoping to see more responses to your post because I have similar questions regarding seating depth. I've heard the "expert" at one of our local gun shops say to start on the lands and move back in 0.005" increments. But from what I've read on this blog over the past few...

    210 Grain ABLR & .30-06

Frankly, I've been looking for an excuse to buy some RL22 now's the time. I also seem to recall that someone had recommended RL22 for .25-06 bullets heavier than 100grns., if memory serves. Thanks all and keep 'em coming!

    210 Grain ABLR & .30-06

I finally found and purchased a box of 210 grn. ABLR's. I intend to develop a load for my trusty Remington 700 BDL .30-06 for no other reason than it's February and I'M BORED STIFF. (So far, I've never hunted anything larger than whitetails so this is just a "project".) I'll start with IMR...

    PRVI brass?

Glad to see the positive responses to this inquiry. I just bought 200 pcs. of 7.62x39 from Graf recently and now look forward to loading them. The brass looks good. I had to clean up a few flash holes but that's not unusual.

    Wintertime and 25-06 bullets

I have loaded and shot many Barnes 100 grn.TTSX & TSX bullets but have never equaled the accuracy that I attained with the Nosler 100 grn. Partition. I'd stick with Nosler.

    Non-lead Bullets?

I've used both the .257 cal. TSX and the TTSX and never quite achieved the accuracy that I can get from the NP's & NBT's. I suspect that this lack of accuracy could be due to the short COAL recommended by Barnes. Any thoughts?

Anyone with a pet load 30-06 and 150gr pill?

I used the Nosler recommended load of 61.5 grns. of RL19 with the NBT and had excellent results in my Remington 700 BDL. (3.300 O.A.L.; WLR)

    300 Win Mag Loads

Looking for advice for my 300 Win Mag, Browning A-Bolt, 26" barrel. I am using 180 grn. Nosler BT. My powder choices are IMR 4831, BL-C(2) and RL22. Thanks for your help.

    IMR 4350

Hi Muzz: I don't have any quantitative data to share with you but I've used IMR 4350 for 20+ years and have not experienced any noticeable changes in performance due to temperature variations. Are your concerns with loaded cartridges or long term powder storage? I've not had a problem with...

    Resizing Brass

After reading responses to an earlier post of mine, someone suggested that I try out some Nosler brass for my .25-06. Well, apparently this is very popular brass and I couldn't locate any, anywhere. If I resize new .30-06 brass down to .25-06 is there any downside (other than the head-stamp...

    .25-06 Load Recommendations

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I guess that the first change I'll make is to try the magnum primers. I'll probably buy some IMR 7828 too but I hate to build up an inventory of partially used powders. I would like to get in the 3100 - 3200+ fps. range so it would be a better idea to drop...

    .25-06 Load Recommendations

I am trying to quickly work up a load for my Browning .25-06 A-Bolt II (22" bbl.). My best load so far has been with the 120 grn. Nosler Partition with 46.0 grns. of IMR4350 @ 3.250 C.O.A.L & WLR primer. This load provides 0.75" groups at 100 yds. I haven't had a lot of luck with RL19 or...
