Try taking a knee, surprisingly it invcreases hit rates quite a bit as it takes you down to the same plane as the target avd steadies your aim. Got that tip from a book on African hunting where the guy recommended taking a knee when shooting charging lions.

Tyler knows a bit about bears and the 10mm
We used to do a “charging bear drill”. We had a remote control car with a wire tripod on it that we would hang a balloon on about 3.5’ off the ground. Turn your back to it, run the car out about 20-25 yards and then turn, draw, and fire as the car raced towards you. It was a lot of fun and...
I have found the 250 hot core to be an excellent bullet in the whelen. Recovered this bullet after shooting thru a large drift log. Hard to expect more than that.
The 270gr Barnes is an excellent bullet in the 450. Whatever you get for dies I recommend the lee factory crimp. Lil’gun was the powder of choice in my 450.
The kenai chest holster from gunfighters inc is the best kydex holster I have used for one. If you like leather the guide from dimond d leather is very nice. The red dot will collect dust so be sure to keep it under a jacket if your riding an Atv or a horse.
I have two of the Glock 20s and...
I wonder when speedy reloads is that important with a O/U or SxS. I tend to run a semi auto when needing more than two rounds. I generally cover the breech on a double to keep it from ejecting and pull the shells. Not chasing empties is more important to me.
Even when upland game...
Lazer range finders have lead to changing needs of shooters. We no longer rely on speed to extend ranges of our rifles. New bullets take advantage of better performance properties. You’re in luck, a faster twist will still shoot your old standby bullets out of your favorite cartridges...
One of my first rifles I ever bought for myself was a Remington 700 ADL IN 7mm rem mag. Topped it with a 3-9 burris. Loading 150gr Sierra game kings at 2900fps. It would shoot 1.25” 3 shot groups and killed several whitetails from 80 to 440 yards. Regrettably I sent it down the road when...
I traded a 629 for a NIB Chiappa wildlands in 45/70. I’ve always wanted a win 1886 clone so I couldn’t pass it up.
I am pretty impressed with the fit and finish of this rifle. I would have liked it to have a more slender forend, but it’s pretty comfortable.
I grabbed a couple of boxes...
I loaded up some more of the secret recipe last night and took it back out to check how they would do. .5” 5 shot 100 yard group and 1” 5 shot group at 300. It’s pretty safe to say load development is done. Going to have to save my remaining re26 for this rifle.
I’m getting 3210fps and have killed 8 animals with it now. Each time with an exit and quick recovery. In each case the lungs were basically non existent, Everything forward of the diaphragm pours out like a soup during dressing.
You will love the 6.5 PRC! I have a Seekins havak in 6.5 PRC I have been shooting the 124gr hammer hunters in mine. It’s an impressive cartridge. That Bergara is a pretty decent looking rifle.
A buddy of had to have this rifle that I had built a few years ago. Sadly he was unable to find re26 so he never even put a scope on it the last two years.
His needs had changed so he asked if I wanted it back. He needed a short barreled 308 for hogs and deer so we swapped barreled actions...
I used to be a dyed in the wool leupold fan. I still think the vx3 line is a great hunting scope. Unfortunately they haven’t kept up with the dailing turrets that the other companies have.
If I was looking for a simple solid 3-9x40 it would be the trijicon accupoint, if it has turrets it...
These high gloss blued rifles really derserve a glossy blued scope, they just don’t look right with a matte scope. Better start scouring eBay for a gloss leupold.
