    Browning BAR 22 LR

I wanted one of those bad as a kid. My father got me a little Browning BLR in 22 rimfire which I still have. It got a lot of use squirrel hunting in GA. I am kicking myself for not getting a A-5 in 20 ga magnum too. I have always been a fan of the Brownings circa 80s-90s.

    XXL Reloading Database

Ok. That's encouraging because I am a little apprehensive about subscribing to a foreign website. Thank you.

    XXL Reloading Database

Good morning. Does anyone have any experience using XXL Reloading? It appears to be a German resource/database. https://www.xxlreloading.com/

    ES/SD contributing variables

I wonder if this supports the theory of using a neck crimping die, such as the Lee Factory crimp die, to promote consistent, concentric neck tension that leads to more consistent combustion? I try to really focus on all of the reloading steps and have achieved some incredibly low ES/SD numbers...

    New Years Feast

We always have a salt cured VA ham, black eyed peas, collards, cornbread and sweet potato biscuits. The next day, I mix the collards with the black-eyed peas and the cornbread with Texas Pete...

    ES/SD contributing variables

To all, In your experience, in terms of the hand loading process, what is the biggest contributing factor to improve ES and SD numbers? I’m chasing my tail. I am guessing that neck tension is probably the most likely suspect. I know it doesn’t really matter for short to intermediates hunting...

    7mm-08 Sub-sonic Load

I probably should have qualified my previous post and stated that this is NOT official data from Hodgdon or anywhere else that I could find. I applied the methodology from the 308 Win which I know could present issues. I recognize that this is contrary to typical handloading SOPs but I started...

    7mm-08 Sub-sonic Load

Just a follow-up from my original posting using Nosler 160gn BTs and Tight Group. This test was mostly for velocities, but groups were all relatively consistent at half inch groups @ 50 yards. I think that the 7.5 - 7.7 range is the sweet spot for subsonic speeds out of my barrel. Rifle: Tikka...

Favorite Loads for the 7-08 Remington

Just a continuation of this thread with more data fun entertainment purposes. FYI only... I wanted to push my Tikka 7-08 with 120gn NOS BTs a little harder. Very satisfied with the results. I never saw any pressure signs but determined the 51gns of Big Game seemed to work the best. I know...

    Weatherby's New Cartridge....

The H2O case capacity is very similar to my 257 WSM (74.6) but I definitely don't have the advantage of a faster twist and higher BCs. I don't know that I truly need those to hunt but it's fun to consider. https://weatherby.com/25-weatherby-rpm/#compare-1

    WSM to 6.5 PRC?

I believe that you can use the same bolt for both cartridges. It's my opinion that +/- .002 will not have an impact. In fact, Tikka offers the same model T3x in both a 300 WSM and 6.5 PRC. I can't imagine they have different bolts for these two "Magnum" cartridges... I re-barreled a Kimber 8400...

    Colt 1911 Goverment Model .45acp ?

Good morning. I used Tenicor for years professionally with daily carry. They predominantly are inside the waistband (appendix carry for me...) but may have other options, they have good retention and are comfortable. All of my experience is with Glock models, RMR cut-out and with a weapon...

I am pleased with my results from both handload and factory Hornady FTX 325gn in my Marlin 1895 Guide Gun. That was using a Leupold VX-3 1x6. They have performed great with whitetails.

    2025 Hunting Season

I certainly can see the desire to anchor them with hills like that. I imagine they could even slide away on their own in that terrain. I can't relate to that demanding of hunting at all...

    2025 Hunting Season

In this specific scenario, I couldn't see all of his vitals due to the terrain and brush. I took what he gave me within the ethical limits. It was only an approximate 140-yard shot while supported with shooting sticks, so I felt confident enough to take the shot. It's my understanding that the...

    2025 Hunting Season

Decent farm buck rutting hard from about 2 weeks ago... It was about a 130 yard shot with Tikka Lite 16" barrel and 7-08 Barnes 120 TTSX going 3000 FPS with a high shoulder shot. Dropped in his tracks but very small entry/exit hole. Vitals were wrecked though. I saw him and three other bucks...

Twist rate for .257 115 to 130 monos; 257 AI

I also had PacNor make a .257 WSM barrel for me years ago and it does great with 115-120 cup and core and 80-100gn monos. It is only a 1/10 and has a tight throat so I haven't tried anything heavier. It produces great accuracy with traditional loads...

    110gr TTSX

Congratulations! How far? Good blood trail? I am curious as I am still experimenting with coppers. Still seeking facts outside my own observations. Many thanks.
