They work very well on WT deer. I clobbered this late season doe in 2024. She took 3-4 jumps and piled up.

Nice shooting! What speed were you getting with IMR4895? The 165 gr SB is a wonderful bullet and very decisive on WT deer. If I take the 308 to TX next month for hogs, it will be loaded up with the 165 gr SB.

Guy,
You are not alone with the old eye syndrome.
My EDC is a Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro 9mm with a Crimson Trace red dot. Easy to carry and conceal. And the red dot is fast, I mean really fast!

I shot them out of a S&W 629 Classic around 1200 fps. They shot well but they don’t expand much and pencil through deer. I’ve had much better results with the Nosler 240 JHP at 1400 fps. In a Marlin 1894, the Nosler 240 gr JHP muzzle velocity was 1700+ fps and nice exits leaking lots of blood on...
Oh yeah
The birds are back and there are several shooter toms around and they are strutting. We bought our tags on line yesterday. I’ve got a month to check our shotguns and wait for opening morning. It’s starting to get exciting!!!
