    What would you do?

I use magic markers to color code the primer pockets for different bullet weights. This could also be used to identify different powder types or weights, primers or seating depths. I use a sharpie to write charge weights and COAL info on the case. JD338

    entry/mid level binoculars

I am with the others. Invest in good optics and they won’t let you down, especially in low light. I have Meopta 10x42mm binoculars and they have excellent glass. JD338

Loading Nosler 100 grain BTSP in .257 Roberts

Gil There are not many 700 Classics for sale so they get top dollar. They are going for $1200-$1500 depending on condition and chambering. The 257 Roberts is highly sought after. JD338

Loading Nosler 100 grain BTSP in .257 Roberts

I use the same load in my 700 Classic. This is a long/magnum action and a 24” barrel. I seat the bullet out to a COAL 2.900” and get 3100 fps and .3” groups. JD338

    Interesting POI changes.

Don Is the H4350 speed of 2970 a typo? Maybe 2570 fps? My limited experience with monos is that they hit to a different POI. My guess is barrel harmonics. JD338

    Taxidermy,costs,and the here after

My wife shot a buck last year that we decided to get mounted. I was shocked at what the cost was. It really jumped up from 2020 when she shot a dandy that was mounted. I’ll let the kids worry about the mounts when we are gone JD338

Working up a load for my "new" 1992 Browning Bar 338 Win Mag.

Bank Welcome to the 338 Club. Not a bad place to be. FWIW, there’s no such thing as overkill. I use a custom 700 338 RUM as my main crop damage deer rifle. The 250 AB absolutely crushes those bean bandits. The 210 PT at 2900-3000 fps is an excellent bullet that opens up well, even on deer and...

    To anneal or not?

I’ve got a Burstfire annealer and run my brass through it every time before I size my brass. I should have started annealing my brass years ago. JD338
