Guy welcome back to UR👍
Your video last year on the 45/70 and the Sub-X got me thinking of my own project. A short barreled 458 WM😁. Ordered my barrel late last year and still waiting unfortunately.
After watching your new video today and your mystery I believe is your chronograph. I think the...
Today I laid out some 5gal pails of water to catch some bullets at a balmy 33* for mid April.
First was the Nosler 240gr JHP
Not much expansion , seems the bullet may have tumbled. Stopped in the second pail.
Next was a Winchester 240gr JHP.
The bullet never expanded and plowed thru 2...
The past couple of weeks our internet has sucked to say the least. We currently use a wireless broadband company that uses local access points to feed our radio receiver. With the rough weather we’ve been having , we’re down more than up.
The only other option I have is Starlink. Does anyone...
Last night we received 8” of some really wet snow. This weekend we are expecting a huge snow storm , and to think Monday it was in the 60’s.
I hope this is wrong , we don’t need 20 - 30+ inches more.
Today I decided on a new tractor , a LS MT357 with the PowerClutch. I was looking for something bigger than my 2 JDs and with a cab. Plan is to pick it up Saturday morning weather depended. The tires will be switch out to the newer R14 instead of the R4 that are on there.
Kinda looking forward...

I found this today on their website and find it interesting. You simply enter your cartridge and lot number and tells you a lot about your brass.
With the snow yesterday couldn’t do much outside today. Dug out some old Winchester 240s my brother gave me some time back. I stuffed them on top of 22.8grs of H110. Ready to roll come spring.
The cylinder on my Tracker is anything but perfect. Nocking the empties out is a PITA. I’m looking at using a Flex Hone for firearms for honing.
Has anyone here a had success in honing a ruff cylinder with decent outcome?
Getting loads ready for this spring for the 257 Wby. Got some correct headstamped Peterson brass to work with. I picked 4 bullets that Weatherby offered in their factory loads. 110gr ELD-X , 110gr AB , 115gr Bt , and 120gr PT.
I found 77grs of N570 fills the case full , was a little...
New year new rifle , right? How many members are planning on getting a new firearm or customizing a current one?
I’m hoping to have my 378 Wby back this spring. A new barrel is on order for the 458 WM and I’m on the fence on rebarreling the 224 Wby. As far as new , well you never know what may...
Today got around to shoot some of those in my S2 Vanguard. I’m using American Reloading MP-521 powder , sold as BL-C2 equivalent. This stuff has given me good ES in every cartridge I’ve tried it in. Overall I’m satisfied in the outcome on a small work up.

Today I received a holster Patrick made for my Taurus 44. With the red dot installed there wasn’t much out there. I can’t say thank you enough for his workmanship in getting what I wanted.
Questions for those who have use this.
How clean does it burn?
How is the ES?
Accuracy?
Muzzle flash?
I have a project that I’m working on with my 458WM. I’ve use a lot of Blue Dot and 5744 both of which are hard to find.
Any feedback will appreciated.
Thanks , Rick
I’ve been toying with the rebarelling of my 458 WM. My thoughts were going to a short (18”) barrel and subsonic for my narrow woods stand.
First my bullets never shipped from American Reloading , eventually fully refunded.
Then my Trail Boss powder from Sportsman Warehouse got lost , again...
I recently picked up a MBM brake off of FB Marketplace. Installed it yesterday and today took it for a spin. Vast improvement over the old brake , pistol is very controllable now. Still shoots the 115gr BT load fine , just a shift in POI.
