    Pumpkin Blast w/Rifles!

That was a great video, well done. The 50grn Vmax's were all I shot for years out of my 22-250 predator calling. You just don't want to put them in the shoulder like a traditional or more heavily constructed bullet. I found if you put them right behind the shoulder in the ribs it is lights...

    Weatherby 257 Mag Vanguard ?

Guy, my other 25-06 (own a CDL like yours) is a Vanguard S2. I have been super happy with it, the stock does not feel cheap, the trigger is very nice and the action is by far and away the nicest of the "budget" rifles as people say. It shoots very well, 115grn NBT, 75grn Vmax, 100grn SGK all...

What to do (Savage M25 17 Hornet)

Thank you for the replies, I appreciate it. I am leaning towards that. It is such a great shooter and is just a fun, paper punching, water bottle blasting and varmint rifle.

What to do (Savage M25 17 Hornet)

Yep. My best diagnosis so far is the bolt rail in front of the ejection port inside the receiver. It used to cut/put a small dent in my brass on ejection. It was super sharp from the factory. I filed it slightly with a needle file and seemed to stop if from putting the tiny "cut" in the brass...

What to do (Savage M25 17 Hornet)

So last January I got a Savage M25 walking varminter in 17 Hornet. I love it, its light, slim, points well, simple and it absolutely drives nails with any bullet and powder I have tried. I took a bunch of jack rabbits last year with it with very very few misses. One problem......it doesn't...

    Sons first jack rabbit

Thanks! 275 to 300 yards is a poke for a 9 year old LOL........or me. Yeah even with the jacks being year round no bag limit I still don't really like just leaving them, although I am certain it helps out a fox or coyote after the sun sets. We are gonna give it a go next time if we can snag a...

    Sons first jack rabbit

Well these CA jackrabbits are a little harder than I imagined, a few times I thought to myself "calling coyotes is easier than this". These suckers just don't stop, the shots are FAR. We had an awesome evening, went with my dad and 9 1/2 year old son. Savage M25 in 17 Hornet, 15.5grn NTX with...

    22-250 Range time

Terminally I can't ask for better. They act pretty much like a Vmax which I like, I shoot above and behind the shoulder and almost always avoid a splash, I have also had pin hole entrances with some shots of the yotes facing me. I got in a little trouble early this season with one that was...

    22-250 Range time

I can hear the THWACK from here, nice shooting. I call with a Stevens 200 in 22-250 with a Boyds pepper laminate classic on it. Before CA went lead free I enjoyed great success with 50grn Vmax's and 37.5 of Varget. Also 55grn Vmax's with 36.0. I now shoot with 40grn Nosler ballistic tip...

    Primer question

So I am loading for 17 Hornet. First trip to the range was awesome, W296 with 15.5 NTX lead free and 25grn Vmax with H322 shot 1/3 and 1/2 inch. I am using CCI small rifle primers. My question is this. With a 25grn Vmax and 12.1 of H322 the pressure Hodgdon gives is 30,600..... which is lower...

Got my Savage M25 17 Hornet (range report)

Thank you. I hear ya. If CA didn't make it so miserable to buy ammo and illegal to order it.........not sure I would have ever left my 17HMR. They did though and I am glad to have a .17 that is reloadable, way more accurate and has twice as much punch.
