In the 6mm Rem Varget N150,and IMR4064 have worked for me with the 70gr BT's. I have had better luck with the 80 gr bullets and RL19. Mine is a standard Rem BDL w 1:9 twist
The shoulder angle maybe different of your rifle. 40 VS 23 degrees since it is a wildcat who knows have a gunsmith plug the chamber to see exactly what the chamber is. 280 Rem brass could be used to fireform also.
I haven't received a reply to my e-mail in three days so I called the 1-800.
Seems the flux they use in the bonding process wasn't cleaned off well enough which caused the problem. They are sending me 1 new box of bullets. Which to me is a little cheap for all the trouble/time they have caused...

These were new in the box. I got them about a month ago. I also use the ones from Shooters and never had a problem before this. In fact I took a nice 6 X 6 elk with some of their 160 gr Accus last fall.
JD, Something is eating the tip. I doubt this is from cleaning. Mine look like the pic on the left. Maybe the bonding glue but it is corrosive of some type.
Rem 25-06 wrote- because I dont like the 30-06 let alone the 338-06.
If you would read what you write first maybe you would understand why I won't use your advise. It probably wasn't the 338-06 but bullet or placement that failed.
The first thing I would do is have a gunsmith tell what they thing. Then buy a Chronograph and check velocity of my rifle with known loads (factory) or chrono'd handloads. If your going to rebarrel you might as well have the action trued at the same time. Check the websites of say Pac-nor or...
I took a nice Bull last year with my 7 RM 160 Accubond. This year I want to use my 338-06. I have a good load for the 210 Part. but wanted something in the Accubond . 200 gr shoots well and I will try the 225 soon what would be your choice. The country is wide open NW Colo.
Pop, I used them for a couple of years in 7mm RM. I didn't like their performance up close or if bone was encountered on the way in. If you like your bullet to not exit it may be your cup of tea.
I'm with Fred on this Rl 22 or IMR 7828. I also like H1000 all with a Mag Primer. I get very accurate loads w/CCI250. let me know your results as I'm just starting to develop loads for that bullet.
How about some load data for this combo. I'd also like the B.C. for this bullet. I'm thinking something like H4350 or Rl 19 as the right powder.Any suggestions on where to start?
Work up to 55 gr. RL 15 or IMR 4064 both will do a good job with that bullet at 2900 fps you can go more but work up slowly. Varget is another good powder.I have worked up to 3000 fps chrono'd without signs of pressure but I think that is to fast for the bullets construction.
I would like to get some opinions on size of game to be hunted with this bullet. I'm sure of Whitetail but how about Elk. I reload a 338-06 at 3000 fps with this bullet
