Advise needed. A couple of years ago I picked up a used Winchester Model 70 in 25 WSSM. The barrel is about 21.5 inches. It appears someone attempted to free float the barrel but a bit more is needed there.
I have a decent supply of new and fired brass. Any recommendations on where to start...
A while back Hornady had a bunch of 60 gr TAP bullets they wanted rid of. A call to their tech shop resulted in someone saying they were deadly on deer sized game. No personal experience with these on deer. I will defer to wiser heads.
All of you are heating my head. I thought I knew a little bit. Forwarded this thread to my son who is the mechanical engineer in the family. Maybe he can explain it to me. Keep it going. I have two Rem 700 long actions I need to do something with. 280AI seems to be a good choice. One for...
Interesting question and it got me to looking at my books.
Trim to length for the 9mm in my Speer #12 is .744. In Hornady #7 it is .754. My Lyman digital caliper data says .754. Other documents specify .754 as well. Go figure.
Was this virgin brass? Did you size before or after trimming...

As I have only a few posts here...

I have more projects in mind than I have $. Currently have two 700 SA with H-S stocks I need to get to my smith for work. He has the Shilen 20" barrels in 308. Looking to shoot 168 gr Nosler. Two? Yep, one for me and one for my son.
Any thoughts about the 700 LA and the 788...
POP - Those #1 are seductive. They keep following us home. That is a nice looking one.
You know I now have to find one in 2506 to help out my 3006, 280, 6.5 Creedmore and 257 Roberts, right? I did not need to see this post.
Thinking my post #1 here is appropriate as we are talking #1s.
