    Who makes a modern 6.5x55?

I picked up a Browning X Bolt Hunter in 6.5x55 from Grices Gun Shop in PA. It was a limited run. I've been very pleased with it. It loves Nosler Trophy Grade Ammo. They may still have some.

    Browning BLR sight question

So hear is another question. I have the rear sight as low as it can go. At 25 yards if I aim at the bullseye it's about 6" high. Now this is the first time I've shot this gun so I wanted to make sure I was on paper so this is reason for the close range. I tried to bring my impact point down but...

    Browning BLR sight question

Fellas, I purchased a BLR Takedown In 7mm-08. I'm trying to figure out if anyone makes some after market sights. I have a heck of time acquiring a sight picture with the factory sights. I have no intentions of putting a scope on this rifle. I've read some reviews about Williams Sights running...

    Cannelure Question

Fellas I have a Cannelure question. So I run 130gr Partitions out of my 270win and with the current seating depth I shoot quarter size groups. So I got some free 130gr Hornady Interlocks with a Cannelure on them. At my current seating depth the Cannelure is exposed. Is this ok? I have no...

    257 Roberts trying my patience

100gr Partitions made a real difference. As I increased the charge groups improved. The groups are now acceptable enough to take it to the woods at 1.5" to 2". My max load was only 40.5gr of IMR4350 so I have have plenty of room to work the load up.

    257 Roberts trying my patience

Started with 39.5gr of IMR4350 and went up to 40.5gr just to start. I hope this works for me. I'll post results this weekend. I have a good feeling about the 100gr Partitions.

    257 Roberts trying my patience

That's the first deer rifle for my two sons and nephews. Oldest nephew got his first deer last season with it. Nice 7pt Whitetail. Perfect gun for the young men to start with. I have faith in the 100gr Partitions. More than enough to take a Whitetail with.

    257 Roberts trying my patience

Ordered some 125gr Partitions. I will give the business cards a try next time at the range. Below is a photo of my rifle. I have a Meopta 3-9x42 Meopro sitting on top.

    257 Roberts trying my patience

I have a long way to go before I'll give up on this gun. I wanted one for years and searched high and low for one new in the box. I may take a break for a few weeks then give it another go.

    257 Roberts trying my patience

You are correct that it is a light weight hunting rifle. You also correct that the first two shots are bull eyes. It just a neat little gun that is annoying me with its groups. I think I'll give some 100gr bullets and a different powder a try. All this gun is used for is Whitetails in Southern...

    257 Roberts trying my patience

Barrel is Free Floated. I thought about trying a Partition. Maybe a 100gr. You think that could make difference being a shorter bullet? Would 10 to 15gr in bullet weight make a difference or maybe the length of the bullet? I may be completely wrong but I feel like my issue is that 20" barrel...

    257 Roberts trying my patience

Fellas, I have a Browning 257 Roberts Micro Feather Lite with 20" barrel. I'm not sure of the twist rate in the barrel but I've tried 110gr Accubonds and 115gr Ballistic a Tips with no luck with groups. I've been able to get two rounds touching then 3" flyer usually high to the right. The...

Why no love for the A-Bolt??

Best accessory for a A Bolt is the 2lb or 3lb trigger spring from Timney. Best $20 you can spend. Mid south shooter supply had the best price I could find. Takes a few minutes to install.

    257 Roberts pet loads

Best I can get in the factory magazine is 2.792 OAL. I'll try them at that length and see what happens. If that does not work I may try 100gr Partitions.

    257 Roberts pet loads

I have a Browning A Bolt in 257 Roberts with a 20" barrel. I have played around with 110gr Accubonds and 115gr BTs using 4350, 4064, and H4350. COAL is 2.780. Groups are about 2" to 2.5". I was thinking about playing with COAL to see if that's keeps. Any suggestions? This gun shoots 1" groups...

Why no love for the A-Bolt??

I have soft spot in my heart for the Abolt. I have one in 243 wssm, 260, 257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, 25-06, and 308 (the 25-06 and 308 are both Medallions with 26" barrels). All shoot 1" groups no problem. It's a hard choice in the fall who comes to the woods with me. Not sure why I like them so...
