1/2”x28 Muzzle Shim Kit

A friend has a Weatherby Vanguard Compact Synthetic with a manufacturers threaded barrel of 1/2 x 28
He has purchased a Terminator T1+ brake and purchased a 1/2" x28 Muzzle Shim Kit with an OD of .748
The T1+ brake has an OD of .734 approx.

So the concern (if there should be one?), the shims circumference protrudes outside the OD of the brake

Is this something I should be concerned about. I could not find a smaller OD with a 1/2 x28 anywhere.
Or is this pretty much a bit of a cosmetic issue and should my friend accept it as such?

Tacshim Small OD 1/2x28 1/2x36 Barrel Shim
