I decided to settle with H4350 as the powder for the 6.5 Creed and 120 Ballistic Tips. Gosh, I wonder why they used the color brown on the tips. I'm jealous that Guy has the Blue Cyclones for his 25-06, its a pretty color and its better than brown. lol  Just kidding Guy.
Lapua brass, BR2 primers and full sized with a bushing. Loaded 4 rounds at 43 grains for foulers . The rest in .3 increments ( 3 shots ) from 43.3 to 45.1 grains. The powder level was right at the bottom of the neck with 45.1 grains, barely no powder crush. Can't wait to try them since its my first time with Ballistic Tips in the Creed. I have only used the ELD- X, ELD-M and the 140 Hybrids in the past. I am pretty sure I'll be happy with the Ballistic Tips, I have always been happy with its accuracy and performance in all of my rifles. Once I drink enough water and milk, I'll have enough jugs for a mushroom test. I'll say 4-5 jugs at 100 yards.

I always hated the brown on 6.5 btips as well haha. But I think theyll work beautifully in a 6.5 CM on deer. And I bet you're right, about 4 jugs, maybe 5 at 25 yards. Keep us posted! Btips always shoot. Never had a rifle in my life I've worked with that didnt shoot 3/4 or better with btips.

I bet those will be just awesome on anything you'd care to shoot with a creed....yeah, kind of hard to come up with something as cool as "Blue Cyclones" when you're dealing with brown. I guess "Chocolate rockets" kind of has a ring to it :) :)

Your Creedmoor load is almost exactly what we use in my wife's 6.5x55 oddly enough just a different shaped case. They are great deer bullets and you'll like them. Yes the brown tip isn't the most pleasing in colour can't stand the red 7mm myself though for some reason. The one I absolutely love the most is the yellow 277, looks sharp and is unique just like the brown 6.5 mm. Seems everyone has a red or blue tip these days

A buddy of mine has had excellent results with those 120 gr brown tipped wonders from his 6.5x55.

I've seen him shoot with good accuracy at 700 yards, and he tells me that they work great on coyotes & mule deer.

I'd have to go with "chocolate chips" - but I don't get a vote 'cause a 6.5 is something I don't have.

Chocolate Chips is a nice name for those brown tips. I do believe you that those tips shoot with great accuracy. I remembered a local match that I had won long ago with the 7 STW and 150 Ballistic Tips pushed with H1000 that printed 1.250 inch groups with 5 shots at 500 yards. It was amazing accuracy with a hunting bullet versus everyone that used Bergers and Sierra MatchKings that morning. I was heckled by a few competitors at the bench when I opened that ammo box but backfired on them at the end. It was fun.

This is the 6.5 Creedmoor made by George Gardner of GA Precision. A little on the heavy side to be lugging around on long hikes, lol. ATACR 5.5x25x56 sits on top of it. 1 in 8 twist 26 inch Bartlein barrel

The "Chocolate Kiss" of Death might be a worthy name. I shoot them in my 6.5 JDJ Contender out to 300 yards. I've also loaded some in my wife's 6.5 Creedmoor. They shoot great but neither one of us have used them on any game.
I'm guessing you will find the jacket and core in the 4th jug.

Another nice name. (y)

If it's brown it's down we used to say.... Still ugly though, my old Winchester M70 264 WM loved them. I had a 125 NP load but most of the animals I hunted fell to one well placed 120 BT. I'd say if they shoot well Mark you won't have anything to complain about other than the color! lol

I use them in my Mod 70 6.5x55 on deer in WV. You'll like them. Never thought about a name for the color of the tips. Maybe Carmel Killers? Dan.

6.5 creed 120bt 44g of h4350 150 yards. Bullet entered on the point of the left shoulder. Found the bullet stuck in the hide on the right side between the 3rd and 4th rib. The buck went about 10 yards. Deer weighted 175 pounds.

Michael C. Smith, nice shooting. What was the velocity with 44 grains of H4350?
Thank you!! If I remember correctly it was 2980. My rifle is a stock savage model11wears a 22 in barrel.

Now you know the reason for the brown tip on the 120 BT. It is camouflaged so the deer can't see it coming.

Nice buck and typical performance from the 120 BT. I would be willing to bet that your impact velocity was over 2750 fps on that shot. Usually when the impact velocity goes under 2700 fps with that shot placement the bullet will exit. I have killed a bunch of deer with the 120 BT in my sported Mauser 96 6.5x55 in which I left the barrel the full 29" to get high velocity with low pressure loads. Using data from the Accurate manual 46 grs AA4350, Fed210M, Remington case, COAL 3.050 is supposed to be under 46000 cup and I average just under 3000 fps. I think it was 2992 fps. Bug hole accurate and SMOKES DEER.

That is smoking from a 22 inch barrel at 44 grains. (y)

Thanks Everyone!! I worked that load up 3 years ago I think. If I remember right DrMike did a quick load for me with all my numbers. .5 groups at a 100 and 2.5in groups at 500. Those ballistic tips are awesome bullets!
