120 Gr Ballistic Tip Bullets

I recently acquired 2 boxes of 120 gr Ballistic Tips from an estate sell. These 2 boxes have 100 each in them and I have no idea how old they are. I have heard that Nosler increased the wall thickness on these 120 gr due to bullet fragmentation. I've also read that the boxes of 100 are the "old" fragile bullets and the boxes with 50 in them are the new "tougher" bullets. Will someone please educate me on these 120s? In the picture I have attached, the box on the right is one of the boxes that I got at the estate sale. Box on left is what I have bought recently.

Ones on the right are obviously the older version, alas solid base design... The newer revamped design on the left is the tougher version. Both will still kill any deer that walks.
