Jacket and core separated even though it only expanded about 1/3 of the bullet length....the jacket got caught, turned backwards, in the back of the 3rd jug...the lead core stopped in jug 5.

Pics later...

Gun/load data:
Ruger American Youth, 7mm-08, 18" barrel

Nosler brass
CCI BR2
28.5 grains of H4895
~2.80 OAL

1,811 fps at the muzzle, measured with a MagnetoSpeed.

Very cool. Not surprised the core came out at that speed but still plowing through 5 jugs isn't bad at all.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Seems like a wicked Bullet for the 7-08. Probably doesn't get to much better for deer and such. A lot of jacket on that Bullet.

I do believe it will expand reliably at 1800 fps...that is 300 yards as it is loaded in my sons rifle (2,575 fps at the muzzle).

Its the bullet he is loaded with, we'll try to limit shots to 250 yards, but 300 is within reach if its needed.
