Obviously the powder, the bullet and the barrel are in fine harmony with one another. Man that is some nice wood on that Ruger. I definitely like the darker wood . Its gorgeous.
I also tried RL33. According to many people on 24 hour 72 gr are the feline's meow. Mine shot 1/2" at 72 gr but velocity was 3080 or something like that. No pressure (visible) whatsoever compared to the 7828 load. Next week I will be going out to sight it in with the 7828 load but I will also try 73, 74 grain or 75 gr (pending on previous load's performance).
Strange is I had the hick's accurizer installed before I tried this bullet and every load has been under 3/4" so far. What a waste huh? LOL
That one good looking rifle in a very cool calibre . Velocity at 3144 is nothing to sneeze at especially with a .6 moa.
Good job Fotis & thank you for the photos!!
Man Fotis that is an absolutely beautiful rifle, love the wood color. Seems to me 7828 and the 142 LRAB were made for each other in that rifle. Looks I may need to try some 7828 in my 264.
Trouble with an accurate rifle it is begging for MORE than one accurate load. Certainly a 142 LRAB at 3144 would be a long range guieded missile of death on deer and lopes. The question is can RL-33 actually out do 7828. With gunner Fotis at the trigger nothing would surprise me.
