Played with my beauty #1 264.

65 gr of IMR 7828 215M caps win brass.

Velocities of four round group 3144 3144 3144 3137

.6" at 100 yards!

264 wm #1B

Handsome rifle; tight SDs. That will work for about anything you might wish to hunt.

Obviously the powder, the bullet and the barrel are in fine harmony with one another. Man that is some nice wood on that Ruger. I definitely like the darker wood . Its gorgeous.

I also tried RL33. According to many people on 24 hour 72 gr are the feline's meow. Mine shot 1/2" at 72 gr but velocity was 3080 or something like that. No pressure (visible) whatsoever compared to the 7828 load. Next week I will be going out to sight it in with the 7828 load but I will also try 73, 74 grain or 75 gr (pending on previous load's performance).

Strange is I had the hick's accurizer installed before I tried this bullet and every load has been under 3/4" so far. What a waste huh? LOL

I had it before on a 223 AI #1B and it shot lights out with it. http://www.eabco.com/HicksAccurizer1.html

What an absolutely beautiful rifle, that fact that it shoots so good to makes me even more envious.

That one good looking rifle in a very cool calibre . Velocity at 3144 is nothing to sneeze at especially with a .6 moa.
Good job Fotis & thank you for the photos!!

Blessings,
Dan

Agree - beautiful rifle - load is terrific, and as usual, somebody knows how to shoot... (y)

Man Fotis that is an absolutely beautiful rifle, love the wood color. Seems to me 7828 and the 142 LRAB were made for each other in that rifle. Looks I may need to try some 7828 in my 264.

Really excited about this Tuesday when I try RL33!!!!

here is the group described above with 7828

Dang is have a hard time monkeying with that. Great accuracy and it should flatten the goats and Muleys.

Oh do not get me wrong I am happy as a lark..... Just a darn tinkerer...

Trouble with an accurate rifle it is begging for MORE than one accurate load. Certainly a 142 LRAB at 3144 would be a long range guieded missile of death on deer and lopes. The question is can RL-33 actually out do 7828. With gunner Fotis at the trigger nothing would surprise me. :) :) :)

A .264 in a Ruger No.1 is a rig that I always admired and felt would be a great team.

I have a little envy in my heart right now, I must confess.

Nice looking, and she shoots great too!
