I shot this out of my 280 AI into milk jugs @ 30 yds. Recovered it in the 6th jug.

That bullet looks pretty good, 83.3% weight retention!
Thanks for posting your test results.

That's about perfect expansion. I havn't tried I/B's yet because the A/B's have worked well and the I/B's havn't put out a bullet the A/B's don't have. How is the accuracy on the Hornadys?

I have been using those types of bullets in my 270 win for quite some time now and the accuracy is great. I can get a .616 inch group at 200 yards.

`Ol #7..................Happen to have any SST`s laying around you can try? For pigs and hogs, I use the 30 cal. 165 & 180 gr. SST`s in my 300. I would be curious to see what your 280 does with an SST or you may have a .30 cal. rifle already. At my range where I go, I don`t know if they allow that set up with milk jugs to be tried or not. Next time I go, I`ll ask and see what they will allow!

Very nice! Accurate? I never had much luck with the Interbonds.

The Ib shoots very nice through my 280 and 280AI.
I first tried it out in my Ruger 7mm mag durring the longest load development process I have had
I get .625 and under with both the NCR 280AI and my Rem 700 280.
The recent post's from JD338 inspired me to do the test. I didn't have as much patience as JD338, hence the 30yd placement.
I thought that it performed very well considering the velocity and the range.
I am impressed with the "bond" of the bonded bullets.
Next time I go out I am going to drive a .284 120gr BT around 3200 into the jugs.
I read on a recent thread that the 120bt is a pretty tough bullet.

Big squeeze, I haven't shot any sst's yet.

The 120 gr BT is a very robust bullet, accurate too!

Jd338 does that say 3300fps?
I was able to print some nice groups @3140 with 59.5grs of IMR4350 and fed210.
I read 3220 over the chrony with 60.5 but the accuracy wasn't as nice as 59.5.
The 60.5gr load showed no signs of pressure but I am starting to go back to accuracy before velocity.
Some how I got into this rut that everything has to shoot 3000+ fps.

I loaded some up at 60grs and thats what will be putting the smack down on the milk jugs.

Yes, 3300 fps was my estimated velocity.
One tough little bullet, recovered the one below from the "jugs" at 100 yds.

Yes, they will do great on deer. Recoil will be very similar to a 25-06, should be great for your bride.
