17 Hornet vs 17 FB vs 17 Rem

Good read but I want center fire. If I can't reload for it I would loose a lot of fun time spend in my own little world.

I am with you there WT. I love to reload, alot, but those little bullets and cases might not mesh very well with my big fingers.. Might have to try one, I would like a small caliber rifle to mess around with.

I like the Hornet a lot but for practical handling and varmit blasting, the .204 s hard to beat with its .222 Mag case and .204 bore which is much easier to clean and manage than the .177. My .204 shoots 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards and is easy to load high quality loads at 4000 fps with 32 grain bullets. That is pretty flat!

Maybe it is just me but I knew several people who bought .17 Rem when they came out and sold them all pretty fast becuase of leading and loading issues.

Probably big sausage fingered knuckledraggers like us Charlie.. Those little bullets would have me pulling the last of my hair right out!

Sotty, I am more of a smaller version, old and blind, knuckle dragger, but one none the less. The .204 caliber bullets are about the smallest that I can handle easily and get in the case straight.

Cz will come out with a 17 hornet early this year.

CZ already has the .22 Hornet chambered in the Model 527, not a big deal to chamber the .17 Hornet.
