This is the measurements I ended up with yesterday using the Stoney Point and ensuring the rounds would fit the Savages magazine which measured approx. 3.441”. Used an empty case with a tightened throat to seat the bullets until they just cleared the forward end of the magazine well.
My COAL with the bullet just touching the lands were:
150 ABLR: 3.407
160 AB: 3.344
168 ABLR: 3.407
175 ABLR: 3.408
Dwh7271":2pudg5i7 said:No experience with that particular bullet but with the 6.5 ABLRs I started .05 off and found a spot with the 129s at almost .1 off. Seems they like a little jump.
IIRC, your OAL with the 175s was around 3.4 or so. Maybe around 3.35? See what happens there. Perhaps load three or four (I like an extra in case I pull one  ) at 3.35, 3.33 , 3.31 and so on. Won't use up too many before one of them shows you something I would bet.
Not beating up on them at all but the ABLRs seem to be a little touchier about depth than the basic ABs.
