So, I was wondering if any of you have used both of these powders with the rifle and bullet combo above?

If so, what did you prefer and why? I have reloaded this combo with IMR, but after reloading some more 35 Whelen's with Varget, I got to thinking......

Thanks

I've used Varget and the H version of 4350 with 180g a NBTs and other 180 grainers. The Varget gave good accuracy but I started getting a few cranky pressure signs before I got the speeds I wanted.

I have not used varget but have used IMR 4350 and Reloder 22 with both 180 Accubonds and Partitions.. I prefer 61.0 gr of Re 22.. Just seems to be accurate and gets the job done. Good luck.

I have used IMR 4350 with the 180 gr AccuBond and the 180 Partition. My rifle shoots 56.0 grs of 4350 at 2700 fps very accurately.

That was my go to load for the 30-06 and 180 gr bullets.

My load in two 30-06 rifles with 165 gr. Accubonds or Partitions has been IMR4350 at 57.4 grs. That seems to be a great powder in the 30-06 and should work very well with 180 grain bullets as well.

My rifle shoots 180 Partitions and 56.5 grains H4350 well. I couldn't get IMR4350 to shoot as well with 180s.

My rifle doesn't seem to like 180 Accubonds.

My go to powder, because it's what I have the most of on hand, is IMR 4350 for the 30-06 when pushing a 180gr bullet.

Thanks guys. I think I will stick with the IMR. Its hard to measure accuracy with my particular rifle as it needs a new barrel.
