Went and shot the new 6 BRA today. Had 12 rounds loaded up with new Lapua brass to get fire formed. Went with 29g H4895 at .010" in the lands with a 108g ELDM. 1st shot at 100 missed the target. Set up a target at 25 yards and shot a 2nd. Was quite a bit high. Adjusted to bullet hole and another few clicks "up" then moved back to the 100 yard target and shot this 10 round group. I think she's gonna be a shooter for sure! Think I'm in love already haha.

Nice start on the 6 BRA👍
Makes me jealous waiting on my 378 Wby , shares some of the same components you used.

Nice rifle and once it starts to break in, it should shoot better. I can't wait to get mine in late spring.
Did the 6 BR Lapua brass fireform nicely? It's what I'll be doing as well. Don't leave out the Varget, its a great powder as well.

Probably gonna take at least 1 more firing, maybe even 2 to get fully formed shoulders. I'll probably just stick with H4895 honestly. I don't see varget doing much if any better than H4895, plus its a tad faster from everything I see. Plus I don't have any Varget and it's hard to come by locally. Are you doing a BRA also, or the standard BR?

It will be a 6 BRA for F Class built by BAT Machine. I also like H4895, it worked very well for my 308 using 150 grain pills. I think I only have about 2 lbs left. Varget worked very well for my 6 BR using 29.7 grains currently with the 28 inch barrel at 2850 fps average, its where I find the accuracy node. The old barrel accuracy node was also between 2840-2850 fps as well. I have maybe a bit over 1000 rounds down the tube, and I have a 29 inch Bartlien truck axle here on hand once my barrel goes south plus another Bartlien 30" 1.25" tapered to 1.1" on the way in about 6 months for either the BR or the BRA. I'll try the H4895 one of these days when I get the BRA. ;)

Thanks CL. I gotta give credit to the smith and the inherently accurate 6 BR cartridge. I didn't have to do much honestly.

The Vortex is just a spare optic. I'm still ditching it for the S&B here in a week or two. Just wanted to get a few rounds downrange and get the virgin brass FF. It's not a bad scope, will probably end up on the 223. Decent glass, FFP, I like the reticle, ton of elevation adjustment, turrets seem to track good so far.

Its all good....I was kidding about the scope, but not about my odds of shooting a group like that. Enjoy that rifle! CL
