Need some help. I live in a state that will only allow me to use a zero mag scope on my muzzleloader. I just can't see good enough anymore for those long shots. Steer me in the right direction, I got a TC 209/50 cal.. want something crisp and clean.....please give me a starting point....

Check with Burris and Bushnell for 1X scopes.
Also consider a Red Dot scope or the Eotech.

4X is perfect but not if your state says zero magnification.

You might also consider some really good quality fiber optic sights, or perhaps a peep sight, as these aid in sight alignment without adding magnification.

mbmm,

Take a look at the Eotech holographic sight. I have one on my bow and it is awesome!

You might still try a peep sight (or aperture sight, as they are sometimes called). The small hole in the sight causes the eye to focus in a way as to have great depth of field, which can increase the range at which you can sight and shoot without the aid of glass. Williams and Lyman make peeps, as do some others. I think it's worth considering. I have a friend who has peeps on several lever guns and he is able to shoot out to 150yds or so with his, even with less than stellar eyesight.

Thanks for the response, I got a line on a T/C scope with rings, bases for a hundred bucks.....going to check it out Tuesday. Draws a vacuum getting old.............

I got the scope/rings/base for $100. Very happy with view...next step range time.....

Well boys I finally got to shoot. I got a T/C Hawken Hunter 1x-32. I am shooting Shock Wave .50 cal 250 gr spire point sabots. Have been using 2 50 gr 777 pellets. I got it sighted in right on the money 1 inch high at a hundred.....so nice to be able to see! Love the scope, adjustments respond and hold. I am happy.....have to make a new thread under muzzleloader as I seek further advise.......You guys are the best......

Glad to hear you got her on target and shooting well.
