Just returned from our blacktail hunt in Southern Oregon. Here's a picture of my buddy's three point, and one with both of our bucks. The first two days we had 3 inches of snow, by Monday the snow was starting to melt and the critters were moving.

My buck was shot with a Browning A-Bolt, .30-06 using 165 grain Sierra Gameking handloads. My buddy's was shot using a Tikka T3, .300 Win Mag and 180 grain Fusions.

Good deer, and thanks for posting the photos. I will be looking for Mr. Blacktail east of Roseburg at the end of the month.

Two fine deer, and undoubtedly some excellent memories that will only be made more vibrant by the meat you enjoy. Congratulations to both of you.

Thanks, guys.

Hunter Jim, I'm sure you're aware but the area east of Roseburg had some pretty large burns this summer. The areas around Steamboat Lodge were really hit pretty hard.

I've hunted that general area for elk for quite a few years. There are definitely some nice blacktails down there. Have a great hunt!
