Getting near the end of the antlerless elk season so I was happy to get it done this morning.
Rifle is a cheap Savage 270 and the 130 grain AccuBond did the trick.
Not the best shot but I was able to hit one lung and it went a couple of hundred yards before piling up next to the shooting bench on the 100 yard range.
Young elk but should be good eating. Elk down.jpeg

Congratulations on your elk, she should be awesome eating. I am a subscriber to your YouTube channel and watched the video as well. Is that the exit wound visible on your field photo? Pretty convenient that she expired where she did.

Not the exit wound. The shot was from the front and went to the elk’s left side. It was fortunate to catch a lung which saved this from being a bad situation. Interestingly the plastic tip of the AccuBond was just u def the hide on the entrance. The blood in the photo was when I lifted the head some blood came out of the mouth and landed there.

try slightly pushing the plastic tip to the side on some of these bullets . years back I had accubonds in 7mm , that the plastic tips were breaking off . maybe bad plastic tips , or something that wasn't compatible , maybe in the wash , was affecting some of them . some of these tips were broken off in the factory package .
