Guys I just got me a new toy to tinker with. It's a Weatherby Vanguard, I need some good loads for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Chet

The Vanguard is a fine rifle. What bullet are you planning to run? Do you have a powder preference?

I have the Howa version and I did well with the first powder I tried, H322. I shot 50 & 55 NBT, and got lucky getting 60gn PT to shoot. The 55 NBT shot the best with the occasional group in one hole. If you use H322, this is a pretty fast powder so sneak up on it, I found sticky bolts below max and moving in .3 gn increments.

I can use 55gr B-tips or B-Kings interchangeably, but the 55grainer is my bullet of choice.
I use Viht N-140 powder & CCI BR primers with 1/2in results.

I'm not sure what your twist rate is ? If it's the standard 1:14 the 55's are about as heavy as you can go.
If it's faster, you might look at the 60gr B-tip.

In Both of my Remingtons i shoot half inch pretty easy!!! In my remington Vlss ,38 grains of H380 and a 50 grain ballistic tip or Hornady v-max, chronied these at 3700 fps out of my 26" tube. In my sps Varmint i shoot 34.8 grains of IMR 4064 at 3760fps. I have a pound of varget but have not tried it yet. I hear this powder is wonderful in the 22-250.

I have had really good luck with Varget and the 50 gr BT in my M700 LSS 22-250.

My 700 VLS like 37 gr of H4895 with 40 gr BT's 4100 fps or thereabouts.

RL 15 with the 55 gr BT shoots sub .5 MOAfor me in the 700 VLS.
