22-250 partition

Howdy boys. I will start crop sniping in about a month. In the rotation this time I am planning on taking my 22-250 stuffed with partitions for use on crop damage deer. Anyone have a pet load with this combo? I have virtualy any powder on tap. Right now I am leaning towards H380. I will probably limit shots with this set up to 350 yards. reflex264

Benchmark or varget would be my first choice. Those partitions work great on deer. I used one in my .223 last year, I was really surprised how well they expand. Blew clear through the spine and shoulders of my deer at 373 yards. Hole left was half inch in diameter. good luck!

Interesting. If the .223 sent it fast enough for a 373 yard shot I may step out a bit farther. I already tried Varget with the partitions and this particular rifle doesn't like Varget. Benchmark should be interesting. reflex264

Give RL 15 a try. The old style PT's shoot good in my M700 VLS 1:14 twist barrel. I also shot a coyote with this load at 70 yds, bullet entered head on in the chest and exited between the hams.

My 22-250 is a Savage with a 1:12 twist barrel. It loves the 60 gr. Partitions. He is it's favorite load:

60 gr. Partition
H-380-36.5grs.
3400 fps.
225yd. Zero=1.5” @100yd. +/- 2”
264yd. point blank
4.5”@300, 9.5”@350, 16”@400, 24.5”@450, 35”@500

I would limit my shots to 250 yards or closer. I know They can kill a lot further, but that's about the limit I would recommend. Just my two cents. :grin:
