I want to load some first rounds for my .222 Rem. I am using the 50gr Balistic tips. What is a good powder to start with. What are your favorites in simular cartiges like the .223 etc... That will help me pick the right one.
I stick with IMR-4198 in my .222 Rem. It loves 40g btips or vmaxes, but shoots any bullet I stick in it under .5". My accuracy load is 21g I-4198, 40g vmax, cci 200, OAL= 2.170" This load is good for .25" and sometimes smaller, while chuggin along at 3600fps.
