Anyone have any experience with this bullet in a .22-250 or .220 Swift?
Looking to load some of these for my wife to try out. I recently had to sell her RAR .308 because of excessive recoil even with reduced loads. It's really too bad, that gun shot very well! A recent experience with my .25-06 had a similar result so therefore, it looks like she will be deer hunting in 2017 with my .22-250 Remington.
Looking to load for about 3200 fps put of my Hawkeye's 22" barrel. Would there be any reason to go with say a 64 grain Bonded Solid Base instead?
Would appreciate any experience or advice here. To wit, I am NOT a huge proponent of using .22 centerfires even for deer but my wife is a good shot with this rifle and her shots will not exceed 100 yards. That being said, I killed one mule deer buck years ago and have seen somewhere near one dozen others shot dead with .22-250 Remingtons over the years. All of these were shot through the head, neck, or broadside through the ribs with bullets weighing no less than 55 grains. Less than ideal, it is adequate for those who shoot "just so."
I of course will be backing her up with my .30-06 in the event anything goes awry.
