Hey guys! New to sight and this is my first post, hello to all Nolser and shooting fans. Shooting a Remington 700 Sendero chambered in 25.06. I am getting back into reloading and I am looking to shoot only one bullet for coyote to whitetails. Thinking about using the 110gr AB, any ideas?

Welcome to the forum, glad you are here.

The 25-06 is a great caliber and will work well on coyotes and deer. The 110 gr AB is a great choice of bullet for all around use. The 100 gr and 115 gr BT's would also work well. For up close shots, also consider the 100 gr and 115 gr PT. Look at the slow powders like Retumbo, RL 25 and IMR4831 in your 25-06.
I recently shot this coyote with the 110 gr AB from my 257 Roberts at a distance of 140 yds. My MV is 2974 fps.

#4 Buck,

Welcome to the forum. I'm certain you'll find some great information here, and I know you will meet some fine people as you share on the site.

The 110 grain AB is the bullet I'd select given the parameters you state. You could certainly go lighter for coyotes, but the AB gives you the extra edge for confidence on whitetail. In your 25-06, it will allow you to reach out there an swap your deer.

I know this is a nosler site and I hope I dont get bashed for this but dont discount the 100 gr core loct from remington if you feel the need for a little more speed than you can get out of the 110

I wont hunt deer with a ballistic tip anymore I am not a good enough shot always hit bone and blow them up bad

Welcome aboard.

Try any powder from 4350 on the fast side to Retumbo on the slow side. I deer hunt in Halifax county NC every year for almost a month. My main deer rifle is a 25-06 that is custom built but duplicates what you have. I have used the 117 Sierra Pro Hunter with 49 grs IMR 4350 and a CCI 250 primer, in a Remington case for years. I will get-er-done big time. The 115 Nosler BT does a great job also but the Sierra cost much less. I used the Nosler AccuBond 130 gr in my new to me 264 Win. Mag this past season to take 4 deer and it did a superb job. There are some on this site that have used the 110 AB with Retumbo powder in the 25-06 to really get some high velocity and great accuracy. Do a search you can find the information.

115g NBT would be my first choice followed by the 110g AB. I"ve killed a pile of coyotes, muleys and whitetails out to 600 yards with the 115g NBT. Really dont feel the need for an AB on deer.

Use Retumbo, 7828, RL25, RL-22, H or IMR 4831.

I took a large bodied Mule Deer with the 110gr AccuBond at just over 200 yards with my .25-06 using RL-22. MV of about 3,150+-fps. I had excellent results with that combination on that Mule Deer. He was running quartering away, the bullet entered near the last rib and was lodged in the 1st vertebrae, right next to the skull. Plenty of penetration. A few years later I took an Antelope buck at 185 yards with the same combination. He was broadside and I hit him high on the shoulder. The bullet passed though leaving a nickle sized exit hole. If I had to do it over, I would have used the 100gr Ballistic Tip for the Antelope.

I really love the AccuBond...but then again, I love the 100gr Ballistic Tip as well. For the larger bodied deer I will stick with the 110gr AccuBond, but for the smaller Deer/Antelope, I'd go with the 100gr Ballistic Tip.

I shot a smallish bodied Whitetail buck in Texas with a 130gr Ballistic Tip out of a .270 Winchester at 110 yards. Quartering to me, the bullet entered behind the shoulder and exited near the last rib leaving a quarter sized exit hole. On that same trip, my hunting partner took a buck with that same rifle/combination at about 150 yards with similar results, (similar quartering to shot) except the bullet was balled up under the hide, near the hip. He also shot an Auodad Sheep at 50 yards with that combo and only got about 6 inches of penetration with the Ballistic Tip. A Partition or AccuBond, would have been a better choice for this dense muscled animal.

I use the 110 AB in my Ruger #1 25-06 exclusively.
Results..........

And my goat at about 300 yards

IMR 4831 is the greatest powder there is for the 25 06. Excellent accuracy and velocity. 100 grain bullets really shine in the 25.

I have worked with over 50 25-06's. I have tried the 100 grain bullets with IMR 4831 with all of them. None of them liked the combo. Weird huh?

POP,

That is a fine group and a great velocity. It certainly appears to have done a good job on that speed goat.

Welcome to the forum.

You have a great platform to start playing with. I have very slight experice with the quarter bores, but the 110 A-bond was the first bullet I chose to try out of my .257 Bee.
They shoot great !

My wife's 25-06 is a Remington Mountain Rifle with a 22" barrel. It really needs 24" or 26" to get the most out of it. I use 49.0 grs. of IMR4350 with 120 grain Partitions, and it loves that load. H4831SC also showed real promise, but I already had the load with 4350 so I left it. I haven't played a lot with the 110 gr. AccuBond, but if I find a great load with it, I'm afraid I'm going to not use the Partitions any longer!
