I just bought my wife one. 25 WSSM in Winchester Model 70 Featherweight. Great little gun. Bought some 100 gr. BT to see how ballistics compare against 243 and low & behold I can't find any load data for a 100 gr. Ballistic Tip in 25 WSSM. Anyone including Nosler have any?

I purchased a Ultimate Shadow in the 25 WSSM just this last week. As far as data the only place I have been able to find anything is the Hodgdon web site (http://www.hodgdon.com/data/rifle/25wssm.php). This data uses the 115 gr. Ballistic Tip. If you are worried about recoil, I ran the numbers and the recoil for the starting H4895 using 34 gr. at 2658 fps with a 7.5 pound weapon has a recoil of 9 foot-pounds of energy and a recall velocity of 9 fps. I hope this helps... :)

jmace - Thanks for the info. I already checked out the hodgdon site along
with several others. I'm not worried about the recoil just trying to find some load info on the 100 gr. BT with different powders. My wife was shooting a 243 with 100 gr. BT's & I really like the bullet. Performs super good on mule deer. I'm sure that the 25 WSSM is new enough it'll take everyone a little time to get in in their manuals. I just thought that someone would have it on their websites. Either the powder companies or Nosler.

I am pretty good at researching stuff on the Internet since making web sites for businesses and online applications is my livelihood, and I found load data to be lacking. However, I did find Winchester load data for their AccuBond, but I cannot remember how I got to it  .

I was really skeptical about even purchasing the 25 since it was almost impossible to find any load data. Plus, a lot of people, namely sportswriters, pretty much chastised the cartridge mainly because of the claim that it would equal the performance of the 25-06 with less recoil. To be perfectly honest I seriously doubt that any of those writers ever shot a round through it. Most of the hands-on experience from other shooters tell a different story altogether, and it seems as though the cartridge is quite accurate out-of-the-box and handles a good range of bullet weights. Happy reloading...

Thanks James. The 25 WSSM definately has less recoil than the 25-06. I've been waiting for a good day weather wise to get out and chrony it against the 25-06. I think it will even be a little quicker than the 25-06. All the lit I've read said they're exactly the same. We'll see. If you happen to find anything else let me know. I had a 30 MPH cross wind the other day at the range so I've really got no idea how accurate. I was still getting 3" 5 shot groups at 100 yds. I'm excited to work some loads up for it. Shoot 'em straight!
