25 WSSM

...I was using the 120gr. GrandSlams & Sierra GameKing HPBTs in my .25-06 for mule deer, will probably load up some 110gr. NABs for goat, the .25 WSSM really likes the 85gr. NBTs. Managed to chrono a few loads today, 115gr. VLDs, 117gr. Sierra SBTs, & 120gr. Speer HCSPs, all over 44.5grs. of RL-17. All velocities were quite a bit higher than I expected, but no pressure signs (max is 45gr.)...

115gr. VLD, 117gr. Sierra SBTs, & 120gr. Speer HCSPs (gotta keep an eye out for them range gremlins)

Those 117gr Sierra's look pretty good. What were you clocking them at? Scotty

...the VLD's chronyed @3192fps, the SBTs @3224fps, & the Speers @3207fps, all over 150fps faster than I expected, same w/ 75gr. V-Max w/ no pressure signs. My 220gr. .325 WSM loads clocked in @ 2791fps (est.2800) & my .300 WSM 165gr. loads were @ 3224fps (est.3200), shot between the .25 loads.

Interesting....my quarter-bore rifle will be for my kids to use to hunt, too.

I make no bones about it, though, I'll hunt with it, too!

It's funny that when I bought my M77 RSI in 250 Savage last year the dealer mentioned that this rifle was being bought by guys for their kids and grandchildren. I started to laugh and told him the one I was buying was for me not some kid that couldn't appreciate it! LoL
