I have been working on this for some time now and finally the 257-300Wby Mark V with B&C metalist stock with Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44mm and load work done in developing a good hunting load.

257-300Wby Mark V 26" reamed Weatherby factory barrel with Zeiss conquest.

Very nice. That bullet is smoke'n.
The camo pattern is very effective.
Just be careful where you lean your rifle so you don't loose it!

Beautiful bullet. I'd for sure say she's ready. You can ruin an animals day out to 500 yards, impressive.

How many shots do you think you can get before the barrel is toast?

With freebore and double radius and factory barrel of the one built last year is at 900 rounds and he still has a throat that gives good accuracy and the 1st that was done is at 1200+. So if I shoot with a cooled down barrel waiting between shots to answer you question will just have to wait and see. But I don't care if it last 500 or 1500, I want the speed, accuracy and killing stroke this cartridge will deliver. When it burns out I will put another barrel on it. :)

Yep, now doubt about that and I can hardly wait till it is hunting season again. :)

.............................Lookin good there!.................Did you happen to check with Barnes Bullets and ask them if there is a maximum velocity for impact on game using their 100 grainer? You don`t want the bullet to prematurely explode, break up and not penetrate enough if it`s moving too fast on impact!!......I know that Nosler has recommeded guidelines in that dept., but I don`t know if Barnes does!

The TSX is the only bullet out side of a few custom all copper bullets that can take these velocities and still hold together on closer shots and not come apart. :)

POP, I would have to agree that the Partition would do well and work at these Velocities but not as well as the TSX or GS. When I want to use my 257-300Wby with a 120gr bullet the Partition would really be a good choice.

You are correct sir. All things being equal no lead bullet will retain its shank's integrity like a TSX, GS, E-tip and so on...

Yes but you are right about the Partition being a great choice to consider especially in the heavier bullets for this 25 because the Nosler Partition in 120gr is really the only option I have in this cal. at these velocities.
