Once again I need to thank POP for the powder sugestion !

I spent the better part of the afternoon today sitting on my milk-crate with three guns that I have worked up new loads for. The weather was finally nice enough for a small sweatshirt and vest... couldn't have asked for a better day.
I purchased a box of 115gr Berger VLD's to try out of the Rem 700 chambered in .257 Weatherby ( Stainless SPS Model )
I loaded IMR7828 / RL-25 & Viht N-165 I should have stayed with the 7828 as it will be the load.
First two shots through the same hole... I then moved it down an inch and over half an inch and proceded with a nice little clover leaf.

68.0gr of IMR 7828 - CCI Mag Primers - 115gr Bergers
5shot average across the Chrony = 3398fps

( POP - Hope your new RUM turns out this way... this is box stock without even a trigger adjustment )

Nice group Mark. Have you tried IMR 4831 on that thing. I'm doing load development for my buddy's 257 using Barnes 115 grain TSX and I havent' tried any powder other than the IMR 4831. So far I'm not too satisfied with the result. It shoot okay but I know the rifle can do better. I might try that load of yours.

That is some fine shooting. The rifle certainly looks like a keeper.

Powerstroke,
