The question came up on a Weatherby discussion board regarding whether or not Nosler would be bringing around a .257cal E-Tip. I volunteered to post the question here. I'm going to add my thoughts, as well.
I believe this offers and opportunity for Nosler and Weatherby to collaborate (since Weatherby already has Nosler bullets loaded in much of their ammunition) on a project that would be great for all parties involved. Consider that Weatherby is smack in the middle of Kalifornia, where lead is soon to be dead. Nosler has what is certainly the most barrel friendly lead free bullet on the market, if not arguably the best overall. Weatherby has the premier .257cal cartridge, and it is gaining in popularity pretty rapidly. The collaboration goes something like this - Nosler and Weatherby get together, work out the weight (something in the 100-110gr range will likely be the best choice) and create what could be the ultimate high-velocity .257cal deer bullet of all time, and look like heroes to our brethren in Kali at the same time. Sounds like a win-win to me. What do you say, Nosler? Already working on the .257, or want to start?
