257 Roberts Load Develpment

There is quite a bit of love for the 25's here, if I wasn't so enamored with the 6.5's I would have been all over a 25-06 myself. There certainly are some fine rounds in that caliber.

There most certainly are many .25-06 owners on this forum. You newer guys just have not been around when the .25's are more active topics then they are at the moment. Plus we had a couple of visitors from another planet, recently who pilloried anyone on this forum that liked .25's in favor of 6.5's. That may be why the .25 caliber fans are quiet here at the moment.

I like pretty much all calibers, when it comes to hunting deer rounds like the 257 Roberts and 25-06 are pretty hard to beat.........

The self proclaimed champion of the 250 savage is working from a tablet due to tech difficulties. Thus I have been quiet CL

Yeah buddy! .250 Savage to .257 Weatherby, they're all cool!

I'm with Guy. I've got a 25-06 in the safe and would gladly add a 257 Roberts, 250 Savage, or 257 Weatherby. All of them are pretty cool cartridges.

The quarter bores do have a certain mystique about them. Any are fine with me.

I just don't understand why people overlook the 25s for good accurate hunting rifles.
It seems nobody loves the quarters anymore. My 257 Roberts is my favorite rifle in the gun cabinet.
Those who've never shot them don't know what they're missing.
I love the quarter bores.
Actually, I love all my bores...
But the 250 Savage and 257 Roberts both do everything I need in the woods I hunt.
I've thought of getting a 25-06 but don't really need that much quarter bore LOL !
I'm taking one of my 257s out tomorrow for rifle opener.

It's a Flaig's Ace rebarreled Arisaka 99 using a Douglas barrel.
It was done in 1960 and it's an effing tack driver with old vintage JRN Remington ammo.
Picked it up at auction of all places for a paltry 4.5 franklins all in.
I put a nice Leupold 3-9X on her.
I will be reloading the brass using the Nosler 115gr partitions so I can see what she'll do with hand loads.FLAIG'S ACE - 257 ROBERTS.jpg
