257 Roberts +P Quickload Request

Hey guys. As usual I've been lurking and not posting for quite a while. I was hoping someone may be able to run some numbers for me on a new to me rifle I'm working a load up for. It's a sweet little Venezuelan Mauser I picked up for a song and will be my go to for the mountains if I can get a good load figured out.

Mauser action
20" barrel
115 gr. BT's
Federal GM210M primers
Nosler 257+P brass

Specifically I'm looking to see what it says as a load with RL22 as there's nothing in the book for it with the BT's.
The short barrel is obviously not giving me book speeds but I'm over MAX with IMR4350 right now. No pressure signs, though I don't really want to push it any further. I've got good nodes from 40 to 40.4 grains giving me 2572/2574/2580 fps at .2 increments. And another 11fps spread, 2619-2630, at 41.2 to 41.6 grains.
I'm fine with the ballistics at either of those speeds, there's not a big enough difference between the two and I'll stick with the 40.2 load for that but I've heard good things with the RL22 and want to see what it gives me.

Re 22 is a great powder for "bob". You will likely get close to 2900 fps with the shorter barrel. My 24" barrel exceeds 3000 fps. Hopefully someone will post the quick load.

Big shout out to Doc for this one. Looks like this load should do just fine.
Super stoked with this rifle. With the super long throat and mag on it I'm able to load a full .2" over listed MAX COAL. I had Doc run the #'s for me again in a PM with the new length to verify the no pressure signs the brass was giving me at this high of a charge. All good.
Obviously need to zero her in but that may be the best group I've ever shot in my life. Caribou season can't come soon enough.

RL22 and the 115 gr BT shoots lights out in a M700 Classic. This is a long action so I can seat the bullets long.

Have to echo what Guy posted above. Pretty impressive out of a 20" barrel for sure. Great looking round all loaded up for business.

JD, good shooting. The Classic's are nice rifles. You gotta be pleased with that combination.

That is a powerful, flat shooting load out of a short barrel. Maybe I'll have to try RL22 in my Ruger UL...
