I'm still holding my breath, until I can get back out to the range to double check this load, but I may have finally found something that groups in my .257 Weatherby.

Just got back from the range, where I shot this three shot group at 107 yards, using 100 grain Hornady SP's, 73.5 grains of H1000, and Federal Gold Medal Match, Large Rifle Magnum primers. The group measured sub-1/2 MOA, at 0.41".

The folks at Weatherby suggested this bullet and weight...now for blacktail season!

Ah! The sweet pic of success. Does this bullet and load give you any other ideas of what else might work? You know, eventually, you will get tired of shooting little bitty groups with this load and have to try something else.

Nice shooting! 4 clicks to the right and you are ready to go.

Thanks, guys. The next bullet to try will be the 100 grain Partition...just need to get over to Bend when they have some seconds back in stock!

Excellent group.
I'm glad I'm not a Oregon Blacktail deer
What rifle are you shooting and what velocity?
Greg

It's a Mark V Fibermark, 26" barrel. This load is shooting just over 3,500 FPS.

I dont recall did you try the accubonds 110?

btw that is alot better group than I could hope to shoot thank goodness all my guns shoot better than me

That is a sho' 'nough fine group. Congratulations. I should think that any deer at reasonable range will be going home with you.

Thanks. I did try the 110 Accubonds. I thought that I had found a pretty good load with RL19, that shot under an inch...the next trip to the range it opened up quite a bit. I'd like to be shooting the AccuBond or Partition, but I'll be sticking with the most accurate load, at least for this hunting season.

TBASTIAN,

I have nothing bad to say about Hornady bullets. It is not unusual that the Interlock gives me the best accuracy on initial work. I certainly use they for break-in and volume shooting. They work well for me, and I have taken a fair number of deer using Hornacy bullets. I do appreciate Nosler ABs and PTs, however, and keep working on most of my rifles to find a load using these bullets that will give me accuracy as good or better than that with Hornady bullets. Usually, that is not a long search.

Way to go TB. It sure feels good to have confidence in your rifle and to know that it will do everything that you ask it too. Go get them blacktail deer now.

Forgot to mention that I have really great accuracy with the 110 nab and IMR 7828. All loads that I tested with this bullet were acceptable and under 1 moa.
