Finally got the scope mounted on Noah's .260. He has a Tikka T3 rechambered to .260 with a Wilson barrel. The 2.5-8X33 VX3 situated atop the rifle was secured from Sako 85 (thank you, Lou).

Noah was pleased to pose with the rifle. He had helped me as we resized some brass for it this evening and then loaded a series of loads for a 6mm Remington I am working on.

Your most welcome Mike :) ..It looks great atop the tikka, and Noah looks mighty happy too
I wish the both of you nothing but the best this fall!

Best regards,
Lou

Very nice! That is a great looking set up and seems to fit him perfectly!

What sorta bullets is Noah planning to load for his new 260? Gotta get ready soon, moose and elk will be coming into season pretty soon!

We chopped this stock to fit his LOP. It does mean that we'll be looking for another stock in a couple of years. We're going to look hard at 130 grain Swift Sciroccos and 140 grain Partitions. You are correct that moose and elk are coming up quickly. I'm afraid Noah will miss elk as he will be back home in the Lower Mainland, but he is pretty determined to be here for the opening of moose.

Noah has a sweet rifle and scope. The 260 will be a great rifle,i sure miss mine.Lee

He's pretty stoked about getting out to the range to pull the trigger. I'm just pleased that he is so conscientious about gun safety.

We're finishing a Savage Axis for his brother, Zachary. He's going to have a .243. I don't know that he'll be shooting it this fall, but we'll see.

I'm glad Noah has a chance to hunt with you Mike .. My grandson turns 1 today  I'll be 59 when Tyler has the chance to hunt with grandpa

BTW, he'll be carrying a Sako

I'm shocked, Lou; shocked, I say! A Sako? Good choice.

Congratulations Noah, that is a great looking rifle & the calibre is a real sleeper! With 140gr. wound up a bit  it will be lethal on a B.C. moose.
Mike both the boys have a very special grandpa & I know that they are learning so many of life's important lessons through both you & Linda.
Kids nowadays miss having their grand parents pouring into their lives!!

Blessings,
Dan

We're enjoying their presence this summer, Dan. I'm enjoying their enthusiasm, especially to hand load and shoot. It is a great summer to be a granddad.

The smile says it all, that's a nice rifle and a great caliber for him. Im sure he'll enjoy shooting it.

That is a great combination for anyone but especially a younger shooter, he will have a great gun for many years to remember his grampa :) Looking forward to how loading development goes and hope to see pics of a big bull moose going down on the morning of August 15......

What can I say, it was made for him. It looks great and with your help he will do well.

Roger that. I'm hoping that Blkram and I can get him into his own moose. His mom gave us permission to keep these fellows around for a bit longer.

I'm sure you have a long time yet  it will always be a special gift from you.

DrMike, they have been killing Elg (moose) in Sweden with the 6.5x55 and 140 grain bullets for 100 years. Noah should be set with the Tikka rifle!

Oh, I believe so, Charlie. In any case, he'll have sufficient back up. However, I do want him to have the opportunity himself.

Mike,

Best wishes to Noah and his new 260 Rem. Its the perfect rig for him.
