260 Remington

I don't know where all you've looked but I checked the Hodgdon Annual Manual and the Sierra manual but neither shows that bullet weight as being compatible with StaBall 6.5. Hodgdon first shows it with a 142 Sierra Matchking.

I don't have QuickLoad so I can't look there for you.

Looking for some load data 130 game changer Win. Staball 6.5 powder Tika hunter rifle 22.4 barrel .
I have the same components waiting for my Tikka 260 Rem so would find this interesting as well. Since you mention a 22.4" barrel do you have a Tikka or a Sako?
I've had a 260 of some sort since 1997 and it's never disappointed, such a good cartridge. The Tikka is my favorite of them and the one that I'll keep.

Gerry sir it's a Tikka t3 Hunter with wood stock one of the best shooting rifles I have ever owned ..

Wildman, do a search here for 260 QL request from me, Ive got records of loading a 129 ABLR and 125pt with staball6.5 in the mid-40s. The info would have been from this forum
I done a search for your QL but nothing would pull up for it ..

according to my sierra #6 it has a coal @ 2.800" and no mention of 6.5sta-ball

same data for the other 2 130's from sierra. the hpbt @ 2.650" with velocity @ 2,800 w/ 24" barrel

you'd need to go to the 6.5creed for the sta-ball to work. however, match might be a good fit?

Jim, the Gamechanger and Tipped Gameking are the exact same bullet. Sierra refers to them both ways for some reason.

Ron
Yes. I've shot the 140's from a 6.5 Creed and found good accuracy. Spent some time checking on the bullet name to make sure that the Tipped GameKing and the Gamechanger were indeed the same bullet. They are. Two names for one bullet.

Guy

thanks Fellas , I learned something already today .

I've looked at these bullet profiles , and thought they were very similar . I never thought they would sell them under two different names .

Those bullets are on my future list to try out. Hopefully someone can put these in water jugs. Curious on the results.
NBT seems to have a thicker base and a less jacket thickness in the ogive than the GameChanger.

Thank you all for helping me much appreciated ...
This thread is such a great example of guys on this particular forum helping each other.

Thanks all, and thanks to Nosler for supporting this forum.

Regards, Guy

I don't have the " game changer " bullet listed . I do have a " tipped game king " that should get info close enough to keep you out of trouble .

6.5 staball gives a good case fill . it's down on velocity by about 200 FPS , compared to the top powders . I'd say it's worth a try , since you already have it .

it looks like the powder should max out at 46.5 grains . I'd start at 42.0 grains and work up towards the max . watch for pressure as you go . if you have a chronograph , use it while you do your powder ladder . it looks like right at 2800 FPS is what this powder should max at .
