i have my encore barrel on the way from the t/c custom shop and plan on trying the 120gr. BT when it gets here. can anyone tell me how this bullet performs on antelope and deer sized critters? i also plan on trying the 125 gr. PT.
Although I dont own a .264" or shot the 120g bt's. You are going the right way in your decision. The bullet will be accurate and expand down to about 1400-1500fps. For a short barreled configuration, it should work beautifully. I would not use the 125g PT, its really not needed. Its buiolt a lot tougher and with the slow MV, I would think it would not leavea very sufficient wound channel. MY opinion anyways.

This year I shot two whitetail deer with my 260 Rem and 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets. My first deer was shot at 93 yards. I hit the deer in the center of the lungs. The deer went about 25 yards with a blood trail on both sides of the deer.
The second deer was shot at 170 yards running straight away from me up in my tree stand. The bullet hit the center of the neck about 4" from the head. The deer slid about 15 feet in the snow.
Both bullets did an excellent job. I have shot deer with the 125 PT and the 140 PT. Stick with the 125 PT,120 BT, or the new AccuBond when it comes out. The Nosler bullets are allot better than the Hornady 129 or 140's. The Speer 140 is ok but heavier than needed.
I just picked up a 6.5JDJ and am loading the 120 gr BT's which I plan on using for WT Deer. Should be a nice combo.
If you are looking at the partitions, you may want to consider the 100 gr PT. Should be wicked on deer with the 260 Rem.
