With all the hype behind the 129gr ABLR at 3400fps I was wondering what the 140gr bullets will do along with some of the heavier 150-160gr bullets that are out there. Thinking the heavier bullets would provide longer barrel life and still provide good long range accuracy and better stopping power than the lighter bullet weights.
since we have the case specs and know the H2O capacity could some one run a load comparison of available bullets and powders for it or is it too new for the existing computer programs?

I would do the same as you and shoot the heavier bullets, they still will be moving warp speed :)

For a rough estimate, subtract 100fps for every 10gr of bullet weight you add, Rodger. So a 140 should be humming along at "about 3300" and a 160 would then be leaving the tube at roughly 3100fps. That's been my experience, generally speaking, with other similar rounds slinging small caliber bullets from on top of large kegs of powder.

Thanks for the replies. My thinking is that the heavier bullets would have less wind drift and be better suited for long range shooting and also have better penetration and more thump at the extended ranges this round would be capable of.

In the April Guns And Ammo, Boddington chrono'd the initial test loads of 140 AccuBond at (supposed to be 3525 fps) a little over 3600 I believe if that helps at all.

Thanks Dewey, waiting for the new gun rags to arrive at my mail box so I can see what they say.

The 140 AB or PT would be real nice in that big Nosler case. I wished someone would sleek up the 140 a little bit, but honestly, with a BC over .5, the 140 BT and AB still do really well moving along at 3150/3200.

Scotty my friend I would no doubt loaded it heavy bullet wise and cut back on the charge to get the best of both worlds, accuracy and down range thump.
I just have never been a belted magnum fan and the belt-less cases intrigue me. the same way the .35 Whelen will push a heavy bullet faster than the parent case will push the original smaller lighter bullet.
