These bullets only come in semi-spitzer? Do they perform equally with the regular spitzer, or does it depend on the critter?

If they only come in semi- spitzer ... why?

The 160's only come in the Semi-spitzer. This does bad things to your BC and trajectory. One gentleman (I think he was from Venezuela) was going to use them for hunting wild mexican fighting bulls in thick brush. For him, they would be a good choice. If you expect to shoot any distance at all, you are better off with the 150gr partitions or 140gr AB.

The .277 cal 160 gr PT is only available in a semi-spitzer configuration. This is a long bullet for caliber and the semi-spitzer helps keeps it shorter.

Ah ha.... ok.

Thanks guys..... sems like I'll be here more often.

Perfect for timber elk where long, loooong range in not an issue.

The 160 is a semi-spitzer, but it does offer a reasonably high BC (.434) in the range of some "long range" partitions such as the 120 .257, 130 .277, 140 .284, and 165 .30 cal. If I wanted to use the 160 .270 bullet, I wouldn't worry about the shape being too blunt for long range work.

That really is a pretty high BC for a bullet described as a "semi-spitzer." Should be good for even 300 yard shots if the rifle shoots them well.

Am pretty impressed with the performance of heavier bullets...
