I would appreciate load recommedndation for accurate loads for the 270. I have been out of hunting for 10 or so years but am getting back into it.
I used to use IMR 4350, nosler ballistic tip bullets, CCI primers and Win cases. Haven't bought factory ammo in 35 or so years. Need to get back to loading some. Thanks.

The 270 Winchester is usually not too hard to work up a good load for.

Just stick with powders in the burning rate of the various 4350's or 4831's and a good bullet and you will find something that works.

I have several friends who shoot 59.5 grains of H 4831 behind a 130 Nosler Partition with outstanding results, both on paper and on game.

I have a friend at work who shoots 58 grains of IMR 4831 behind the 130 Ballistic Tip and he gets very tiny groups at the range.

I have loaded 53 grains of IMR 4350 behind 130 Sierra bullets for a couple of guys and they have shot groups under an inch. One of them is my step son and his family used that 270 to kill four deer this fall.

Hope this helps, R F

270fan, my favorite load for my 270 is 57gr of IMR 7828 under a 140 gr bt and cci 200 primers. That is out of a winchester model 70 with a boss which I have had two shots touching at 200yds, and shoots under moa with a encore 15 inch barrel at 100. I have shot 140 accubonds out of the pistol and they grouped a little bigger and higher but have not tried them in the rifle yet. This load came from noslers reloading manuel # 5which I highly suggest you buy. Welcome to the forum.

I liked 57.5g of RL-22 or H4831sc under 150g Sierra boat tails. Velocity was 2950fps out of my 22" tube, and accuracy was great to 800 yards! Would be my all around load out of the .270. Another one was 58.3g of h4831sc and 140g AB. 52g IMR-4350 and 140g SBT was under MOA. 54g IMR-4350 w/130g NBT was under MOA. 58g H4831sc w/140g SST was great also, 1/2 MOA at 3000fps. 60.5g H1000 w/150g SBT was decent as well. All loads used were win cases, and either Fed 215 mag primer, or CCI BR-2 primer. All loads were loaded to the lands. My rifle was a Rem 700 BDL w/trigger work done was all. Very accurate rifle/cartridge and was easy to find loads for. Any of those loads above performed well under MOA, and most are .5-.75 MOA. Hope I was of some help!

Hey, I use two diiferent loads for my .270Win. Both are the same except for the bullet. Both loads deliver .50-.75 inch at 200 yards.

Bullets: 130 gr Ballistic Tips, or 130 gr CT Ballistic Silvertips
Powder: IMR 4350 (48.0 Grain)
Primer: CCI 200 LR
Brass: Winchester Bulk.

The smallest exit hole I got with these bullets was about the size of a quarter. Both produce severe internal damage. Little bloodshot Meat though.

Ask if you have anymore questions!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

An excellent load to work with. Several powder had favorable to great results. Best on paper and deer was R-P once fired brass, Federal 210 primers, 60.0 grains H4831SC, 130 grain AccuBond seated on the lands. Consistently .25" and sometimes less. Temperatures in the 30's. Elevation 3500 feet. Speed approx. 3100 FPS. Great performance on deer. Approx. 2" exit. Heart and lungs jellied. Drop where he was standing.

Cut a coyote in half at 150 yards. Deer was at around 200 yards +/-.

I greatly appreciate each and every one of your responses. I plan to try them to see which works best in my gun. At least I have some good data to start with and for this I am very greatful. THANKS.

Ruger M77 old tang safety style
RP Case
WLR Primer
55.0 IMR 4350
130 Partition
3.340"

P.S. Could not get the 130 ballistic tips or 140 Accubonds to shoot w/ IMR 4350 anyways, but the above load is a winner!
