My buddy just picked up a new M700 in 270 Win. Does anyone have any pet loads for the 130 gr BT and or 140 gr AB. He will be using this load for WT Deer.
I have loaded many calibers for the past 30 years but never worked with the 270 Win. I know IMR 4831 and H 4831 are good places to start. Any one had any luck with RL19? I have had real good luck with this powder in my 280 with 140 gr PT, BT, and now AB.

Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

I always had best luck with my .270 with IMR4350. I used to use 140 Ballistic Tips with 52.5 gr . The same load should work with 140 Accubonds. Back it off a few grains to start with. This used to give me .5 MOA.

JD,

RL-19 is a good powder. I've got the highest velocity and real good accuracy with RL-22. Either one of them should give you what your looking for.

Guys, Thank you for the information.
I will start working with RL-22 when we get back from deer hunting.

The 140AB with IMR4831 behind it.

51.5grains

Works really well for our 270 Winchester

Thank you everyone for your comments. My buddy and I will start the loading project after the holidays. I will post are results for all to see.
I think using the 140 gr BT and AB would give the most flexability for hunting most of the small to medium big game in NA but my buddy will have to make his own decision.

BTW, does anyone know if 130 gr BT, 140 gr BT and/or AB shoot close to the same POI at 100 yds. I remember reading Jack O'Conner telling that 130 gr and 150 gr shooting to the same POI at 100 yds.
