270 Win

In a standard bolt action rifle IMR 4064 which replaced the original loading of DuPont 15 1/2 loaded with the 130 grain bullet. IMR 4350 which is temp insensitive works well with the 150 grain bullet

For sure. H4831 or RL22 have been go to's for the 270 Win. If one didn't shoot great the other did. Another good friend swears by IMR4831. I use RL26 with the 130's for 3150 from my Featherweight with the 130 Trophy Bonded Tipped.

Working on my BIL's 270 P64 Featherweight right now with 130 Accubonds and H4831SC. One thing to note I have noticed over the years is soft loads of H4831 or 22 never looked like much till you pushed them up to the 2900+ area and usually they really came alive around 3000-3050 marks. I wouldn't be completely surprised to see you have to push a few grains over Nosler's max, but still under Hodgdons, Hornadys, or Sierra's data for a 130. For some reason Nosler must've gotten a dynamite barrel of H4831 for their testing, cause it was dirt slow in a few of my rifles till I was in the 58-60 grain range.
Scotie, just picked up a P64 22” feather weight.. previous owner was seriously into cup and core. Loaded Speer, Hornady, and Sierra, and also Barnes HP, (mono), all at 59 grains of H4831. Haven’t shot it yet. I received two sets of dies, 2 # of H4831, about 600 Sierra gamekings(130-150) 200 speers(grand slams) 800 Hornady IL 140-150, 100 partitions(150)… and of course, while I like the Sierras(no experience with grand Slams) , I’d like to load some AB’s.

Thank you to everyone contributing to this thread. Answered a lot of questions… I do have RL22 as well, most of the 140 hand loaded rounds passed to me, are 20year old 130…. Never fond of shooting someone’s loads… especially when I find 5 Barnes loads in a box of 20 that was labeled SGK.
Scope is a Leupold Vx3i 2.5-8. Seems super clear.

Sounds like a sweet rifle. You should be able to stack up a pile of deer with that rig.

60 gr H4831 or RL 22 or with 130 grain. Work up.

That is a great deal, lots of components and a really nice gun. Could last many years with what you got with the gun. The Speer GS is a great bullet on par with the Partition so you'll like them.

I struggled with the 4831s in my daughter’s 270 with 130 and 140 grain ABs then tried 7828 without any luck either. I was really scratching my head, as these had always delivered the goods in our other 270 rifles. Someone mentioned trying RL22 so I gave it a try and it shot lights out!

I know this is a bit old, not sure how your powder is working in your 270.
This is just an FYI, I have a friend, he runs H1k in his 270 with 130 grain bullets.
Take care.

H4831sc with 130gr AccuBond in one and the same powder with 130 gr grand slam in another. My records show neither rifle liked the Barnes ttsx and the second rifle really liked factory core lokt-go figure
